You’re trippin’ broStormTrooper96 wrote:JAYDN Su'A has plenty of one quality it takes as much as anything to make it in the NRL these days - patience.
The 20-year-old knows his only chance at getting a shot in his favoured position on the edge is to keep toiling as a back-up front rower in the middle.
Su'A will learn tomorrow if he will stay in the Broncos' 17 for the match against Newcastle on Saturday.
It was two years ago he made his NRL debut as an 18-year-old second rower.
Tevita Pangai junior's possible return could rob him of his spot on the bench this weekend, but Su'A understands the only way forward is to keep pushing.
"Obviously my goal is to stay on the bench and play as much first grade as I can," he said.
"I am a bit raw to the position I am playing in the middle.
"But I am grateful for the opportunity so I have to start from there."
It has been an up-and-down start for the Logan Brothers product in 2018.
After strong trial form earned him a round-one berth, he was suspended for a shoulder charge.
He missed the round-three win over the Tigers - and excelled playing Intrust Super Cup for Souths Logan - before replacing Pangai in last week's loss to the Titans.
Yet Su'A may just get a chance at his favoured edge position when Matt Gillett is called away for State of Origin duty next month.
"Hopefully - obviously there is a good chance he (Gillett) will be there," he said.
"If Wayne (Bennett) picks me in that position, then so be it, and I love it out there.
"I can't wait, so we will just have to see what happens."
This sounds like TPJ is going to be named tomorrow

This was my thinking mate and the way Crichton was talking about getting Reynolds back seemed he thought his own game would improve because Doueihi was too inexperienced, Im willing to take the risk

I wouldn't captain him as too much risk. Risky captaincy choices are for later in the season. Surely you have someone more reliable to captain.
