Does Murray even get into the Souths 13 when he's back if all the Burgii firing and Crichton/Sutton locked in the second row, or does he play from the bench?

Upgrading Lodge this week to a second row keeper. Looking at Burgess, Matterson, Lolo, advice on who we think the best option is would be greatly appreciated!

Rein or S'uA is quite a tough choice.

I actually expect SuA to start pretty soon (and potentially this week, though being the storm bennett may hold him back)

Rein is tricky. 4 to 6 weeks for Peats..  if Peats is back quickly then Rein becomes an urgent trade. On the other hand, Rein looks like getting big mins and should be good to play in the 17 while Peats is out.. which is all the more tempting with Brown and Murray on the pine.

OK, so let's look at Souths first choice pack (if Murray is in it) and bench and potential minutes...

    8 Sam
    9 Cook
    10 Tom
    11 Sutton
    12 Crichton
    13 Murray

    14 Douehi/Utility
    15 George
    16 Nichols
    17 Clark/Tatola

Let's assume 80 for Cook and that the 14 doesn't affect the forwards minutes, with 400 to go around

    Sam 70
    Tom 45
    George 35
    Sutton 70
    Crichton 80
    Tatola 25
    Nichols 20

Leaves Murray with 55 minutes... not sure how useful that is going forward.

Why would Murrays role be any less than it has been?

Has averaged 60.5 minutes over the 4 rounds he has played when he was "fully" fit if he can maintain that he is more than useful

But has got me thinking whether I should upgrade him now

Basically trading 60 points for 80+ and picking up 170k

    Thoughts lads?
i like the rein trade enough. does it worry you trading out 2 bye players for 0? only thing keeping the bald shit truck in my team for now.

we still have a max of 16 trades (6 weeks + bonus week) to make between now and the first origin. but we gotta start balancing soon, if not already

Yup I have the same dilemma.

Probably going Rein as hookers with 60+ mins generally score well.

Agree. Rein prob a better scorer but short term but Sua better long term cash cow

just out of interest. Riley Jacks named at 7 for the Sunshone Coast Falcons and Brodie Croft named at 7 for the Easts Tigers and Brandon Smith is not named at either. Seems weird that Jacks’ name would be anywhere near a QRL team list

Its an error. Should actually be Rhys Jacks for the Falcons (dif bloke). The qrl site has the correct name.

Because Tom and George in particular have been playing much better in the past couple of weeks and could get more minutes, meaning less for other middles. Nichols has also been excellent in Sam's absence.

Have you seen him play? Kid is a legit gun and future rep player. I have no doubt he will be back in the 13 jersey as soon as possible
