Rochow or TPJ for who is out? Both are pretty much the same, can have a big game but also been quiet. Priced about the same. Who’s gone?

surely TPJ is worth waiting on? Especially with all the Broncos injuries. Has to be another week right?

My thoughts too. I am trading Croker > Rein and Rochow > S’ua for a cash grab. I know I am trading two RD 13 players for two RD 17 but I will be trading Rein out in 4-6 weeks and I may change my mind on S’ua before this weekend.lukeaye wrote:

Same decision to make for me... TPJ has more up side to baldy, apparently Rochow was in a moonboot as a precaution after the Manly game. I'm bringing rein in and goisk as I got Sau last week.StormTrooper96 wrote:Rochow or TPJ for who is out? Both are pretty much the same, can have a big game but also been quiet. Priced about the same. Surgess and Rein gets my vote because it's what I'm doing haha.
I'll need Tolo to match last weeks performance to start thinking of him

I'm going Matterson and Rein this week.
Only because I have Surgess

Thanks for the input guys! I might give Surgess a week just because of his BE I can wait a week. I want to get Rein in he’s a former gun that’s cheap as anything. I’ll get Surgess in next week!

Are those trading out Kennar not worried about coverage for back 5? If I traded out Kennar I would have no centre coverage and my WFB coverage is my starting HLF. Would ideally need to flip him to a keeper centre(Bird?) allowing me to have Hiku as back-up on the bench

I have Hiku and Thompson in the 13. Isaako as cover for CTR and JMK can cover wing if needed.
If not I'd probably punt Rochow. Still unsure if it's he or Kennar that gets cut. If I cut Rochow I have no FRF cover.

Quick question for you guys.
I have Smith, Cook and Macca at hooker but JMK and Maloney at half. Would you sacrifice Macca to get in an elite half? It just makes my team look so much more balanced. Other trade would be a tpj/rochow to Lolo/Crichton/Burgess/matterson.
Cheers.

Priced at 51, averaging 51. Last year was the first year he's averaged over 50.
Half his scores this year are in the 30s.
Is one good score enough for everyone to be convinced he is back to his best
Im torn between him and Surgess, but will get both eventually. I think it's his high ceiling and just knowing what he can do. He should be able to smash his BE so I guess it's the fear of missing out on him as he's bottomed out. If he got that try he would have cracked the ton. Cowboys looking like they will need to rely on him again with McLean out and Scott being rubbish.

I would wait and see how Niko affects Macca first if at all. Running those two halves isn't the worst, but I know what you mean by the the look. Even though scores may be similar if it looks weak you are just not happy haha. Id do your other trade and sit a week or a second trade to get coin and reasses.

Surgess or Matterson will be my big choice this week.
Rein definitely coming in but concerned I'm missing the Sua/Gos cash
Should that be a worry?

FWIW, I'm most likey going to trade Griffin and Lodge before TPJ and Rochow. Rochow being in a moon boot is a concern though. No wonder he played like shit.

Going through the thread so perhaps this has already been answered but here's what I think.
Short answer = if you think he has started the season below average (i.e. that he bump that average up by a few points, lets say to ~55) and with BE of 42 he's a buy.
Longer answer = attacking stats. You only have to look at his attacking stats over the first 6 games this year and compare to last to see how he could reasonably up his scoring: Last year = ~5TBs per game, ~1OL per game, ~1 LB every 3 games, ~1 Try every 8 games
This year = ~4TBs per game, ~0.33OL per game, 0.5 LB every 3 games, no tries
Alternatively, he he was a 1ppm player last year, and 0.97 the year before. At ~58 minutes per game (current average) even if his ppm dropped to ~0.95 he'd also average ~55.
End of the day you gotta take a punt somewhere in this game, sometime it'll pay off , sometimes it won't, but if you punt on a "fallen gun" and you get it right then that gives you a massive leg up IMO.
Disc: I got him in two rounds ago, so have experienced the low (shitty 46min performance) and the high (nice 81) on average its working out cause he's averaging ~60 since I got him. Im not convinced yet he will average 55 going forward, but I was, and still am willing to take the punt on him. He also presents as a nice C option if you manage to get on him on one of his good days - this week could be a goer against the Titans!

Something interesting off the wt forum in regards to players with niggling injuries. Cleary confident with depth and will rest players if he can.
If Elijah Taylor wasn't ready for this week, Lawrence would have played but since he's right they're giving Lawrence a rest with a sore hammy.

Thanks, @wolfking. Might just grab one gun and cash out kennar or Douehi for a gosi/sua/rein and wait it out. Niko worries me on the bench.
@liverpool_bulldog I don't want to miss out on their boosts either. I reckon Gosi is safer of the two but may be a slower burn. Rein could be a good boost over the next month?
