    1. IF Gelling is named to start. This means they favor him and he's put out two solid performances. He scored well (37) in a losing team. I think he's stronger defensively too. It also allows me to upgrade a WFB if needed. (HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD)

    2. Upgrade Doueihi to Ramien for $94k. Solidifies my centre, allows Dugan to come into my WFB when he's fit, but limits my upgrade options to anyone under TTurbo. (LOW-MED RISK)

    3. Play Isaako. Cash out Doueihi to Fonua, Upgrade Dugan to Teddy or TTurbo with close to no money.

You gotta forget the trade to bring him in mate, nothing is gonna change that. So (as hard as it is) you have think of trading him out in terns of one trade.

In addition, 4-6 weeks is too much time to have $600k on the sidelines, if I had him and I didn't have 2 other urgent trades, I'd definitely be trading him out this week.

Given that it's Dugan, I woudn't be surprised if it's closer to the 6 weeks rather than 4 too. It's a broken foot and only tough cunts like Munster return from breaks on the shorter end.

    Dugan misses games for fun.

I'm looking at the following trades:
    Isaako --> Cogger
    Dugan --> Katoa (if starting)

Gives me 550k for upgrades next week (probably bringing in Taumalolo and Fifita)

Gelling missed 3 and 4 tackles last 2. Kata missed 3 all season. Kata will be back as soon as fit. Gelling probably back to utility which even worse for owners

Is it bad idea to sell Harris with high BE to R13 player? I mean I've got to get R13 sometime and Kikau JFH RFM Arrow Maloney Rein Mbye going nowhere atm

Any interest in Teddy(c) against the Sea Eagles?

Manly are going to be disorganised in the halves (and elsewhere), and there could be good points for Teddy around the ruck.

Captaining a FB and even a HLF against any opposition is always a huge gamble.

If they score 60+ it's an achievement for that position. If Cam, Cook, Fifita and a bunch of other forwards score 60+ it's pretty standard..

I posted my thoughts on that one yesterday, but in summery, yeah mate, I reckon its a bad idea. He looks like a season keeper at this stage so unless that has changed BEs don't matter and he's just a hold.

Also, while I agree with you re the players listed over the next round or two, with the exception of Arrow and Mbye, I'd leave the door open to trading any of those fullahs before round 13, particularly Maloney (who won't be near;y as appealing once Cleary is back) and Rein (who might be out of a gig by next week if the rumours are true). Then with JFH, Kikau, and RFM, I personally don't think they are gonna be season keepers, therefore there's the option to trade one of more of them for round 13 players over the coming weeks.

Yup, I agree, I'd be hesitant to bring in Gelling if its based on the hope that he will lock in a starting C spot - Kata and Beale both ahead of him in the pecking order I reckon.

I think if you want to take the risk to climb some spots then it could be worth a crack!

As the previous poster said it's a gamble, but one that can pay off every now and then.

Hey lads having trouble with who to trade bar Dugan.

    Smith
    Arrow, Kikau
    Murray, RFM, JFH
    DCE, Maloney
    Aitken, Dugan
    Teddy, Ponga, Walker

    Cook, Matterson, Sorenson, Havili
    Thompson, JMK, Hiku, Gossy

Dugan and Gossy + 100k doesn't leave me with a lot of room. Possibly to improving midrangers could come in I'm unsure.

    Thoughts chaps??

    Yeah and makes good sense.

What about screw byes for now and admit my mistake and get back CS9. Not sticking with reliable C has been killing me.

You could play Hiku. Then Dugan + Gosie + 100k = Taumalolo + basement priced cashy (Katoa, TLT shock etc)

    Smith
    Arrow Kikau
    Taumalolo Murray RFM
    DCE Matterson
    Aitken Hiku
    Teddy Ponga Walker

Cook JMK (playing hooker?) Havilli JFH
    Maloney Thommo Sorenson new cashy

    Sort the bench however

I'm going for the safe option this week... Captain Cook.

I went Arrow last week, which worked out well despite his back spasms.
I would go Captain Arrow again this week if I knew his back was ok... maybe again next week

What do you not like about Tohu, if you have kept him all this time why sell him now?
Minus the headknock game he is averaging around 54 points

I am also not convinced about bringing in Origin players between now and 17 to be honest.

I was working it out in my head the other day and from memory if you are looking at a 60 point average Origin player (Smith, JTrbo for example) you could pick up a player as low as a 53 point average and still score the same with them between now and the end of round 17. The advantage with the later of course is you are paying less for the 53 point guy than the 60 point guy for the same overall output and can use that extra money else where in the mean time.

That of course doesn't answer or solve your captaincy dilemma but one could argue that right now Cook, Arrow, JTrbo, Fifita all present pretty solid C options too so you could probably live without him.

Disc: I admitted I was wrong on Cam, but I didn't have him to begin with but brought him in a few rounds ago!

What's your team man? Its all well and good for me to be anti your trade ideas but unless there's something better what Im saying means little Wink
