I think Tigers are set for a big downslide. Meaning Marsters stats will go with them too. They have Warriors, Cows, Panthers, Bulldogs and Roosters. 3 maybe 4 of those games will be very tough. If they can string a couple losses together (well they already have but a couple more) heads will go down, confidence will be gone. I think they will be 3L and 2W next 5 weeks.
Shame on you. Did you not learn anything from seeing the Tigers "super difficult, predicted losses" in the first 5 rounds. You can't predict fantasy scores from the perceived difficulties of a draw. It happens so many times on here only for that prediction to be very wrong. Go stand in the corner for 30 min and think about your actions young man.

Cap'n Ranta wrote:I know with Dugan going down and Hiku, Isaako and Kennar all peaked we are throwing CTRs around but can someone explain the Ramien trade to me?

He's at $457k currently. (priced at a 30 ish average)

The best centres are around 600k so we are effectively banking on him becoming a keeper or to make enough cash for the trade (which he'd need to be a keeper to get)?

I must admit I haven't seen the lad a lot but:

    - He makes around 15 tackles and 100m per game. Base of 25.
    - Misses just under two tackles a game and makes slightly over 1 error. New base of 19.
    - Attacking stats aren't huge in his first 3 games but have been great in the last two games. Probably too soon to know which is the anomaly.
    - Is his spot secure? Know with Dugan from CTR to FB it opened a spot but can a helpful Sharks supporter tell me if he's got that CTR spot secured?

Just not seeing where all the love for the guy is coming from. I'd personally rather trust injury reports and play Capewell @ 338k as a cheap CTR for 3 weeks, 1 dud week (Lewis/Gallen returns) and 1 origin week. He's cheaper, has a better floor short term at least and is available at CTR. I'm waiting for team confirmation before pulling the trigger on this though.

At least with Marsters he has the goalkicking providing a solid floor (for now with Lolohea out) and while he might only make 10 tackles and run for 120m the attacking stats on the guy are huge (multiple TBs (3/game and Offloads 3/game). He does have more MTs and Errors in him too but I can see a boom bust CTR potential with the guy and his bust games should be okay while he's kicking goals.

I know Marsters isn't cheap and other keeper possibilities like Croker, Cotric, Fergo, Roberts, Gagai, Aitken and Latrell may break your bank but I'd look at any of them as well as cheaper guys like Aubbs, Bird, C.Scott, D.Walker, Capewell and even keeping Isaako/Hiku over trading Ramien in. Just keep seeing his name this week and wondering what I'm missing (other than two good CTR scores)? Just feels like its too late to take a punt on him.

TLDR: Got multiple guys I'd rather at CTR over Ramien. Why the love?

You would think when Dugan fit and if Katoa were to get a spot it would be

    Dugan
    Holmes
    Ramien

    Feki/Katoa

Tigers draw doesn't look that tough.

Warriors coming back down after losses to Broncos and smashed by Storm, a team we beat twice already.

Cows and Dogs have been out of sorts. Panthers copping a lot of injuries and Roosters we beat already at full strength and will be without Teddy and whoever else for origin that week.

I was a bit surprised Katoa wasn't named this week. Surely he's better than Feki, and is back to 100% by now?

Ramien has a low of 25 which is higher than any of the other centres low bar Marsters at 22. Also, Ramien came off mid 30s before he hit 40s so the love would be stable centre scores rather than Roulette.

Thanks @Rapture_NRL, @StormTrooper96 and @SI. Makes a lot more sense now.

I guess its one of those guys where the guy looks the goods and is a CTR. Probably one of those spots where we don't ask a lot from.

So the deal is kinda cut price keeper esque - $457k for decent to good scores and the bonus that he's actualy a decent/good upcoming player IRL.

I can get behind that logic but I probably need to watch more sharkies games and even then I'm not certain I'd buy in. Just a gut feeling that the trade is a week or two late (if he was a bit cheaper I'd be more tempted).

For mine, buy the gun centres if you've already upgraded everywhere else.

He only kicked 10 goals at 5/8 last half of season so 12 game average drops from 36 to 34 when removed

Exactly. Low expectations, pleasant surprise!! haha I feel like comparatively, he might be the Murray/JFH of centre where he's slightly undervalued, safe, but wouldn't really be worth it once he reaches full value. I have to miss him this week (for Tolo) so I'm hoping for a 30 from him to grab him next week

@Claytron Solid enough team with decent cash generation. Here's hoping Lane keeps those minutes up!

Anyone considering cashing out Isaako to Fonua? That cash will be handy in the next couple of weeks

Big effort for anyone to invest that much time each year

The recent article on 'keepers' was great too, was 1/2 way through my own spreadsheet when i came across it today...
So literally hit the delete button after seeing it haha

It's a good read for people interested, helps put perspective on the points gain potential of bringing some players in or if they are worth of an upgrade.
Even helps just give you an understanding of bringing in say a 16 game origin player vs a 17 game non origin player.
Not counting players who may get rested after origin, but it may allow you to buy the same points output for less
    So worth a read

    Cheers Beer

Thanks and no problem. I'd probably do it all if no one read it but it is nice people find some stuff useful.

    Gosiewski to Haas
    Thompson to Norman

    Cook
    Fifita TPJ
    Matterson Arrow RFM
    DCE Norman
    Mitchell Isaako
    Tedesco Ponga Mbye

    Smith
    Murray

    JFH

    Sua
    JMK
    Haas
    Fine

Just posting my team up again as I'm worried that if I bring in Norman over Watson/Cogger I won't have any bank left and only really Sua and JMK as genuine cows left for generating cash. Or should I just go with my instinct that Norman is about to hit a purple patch and just pray for no injuries? The only player needed upgrading ASAP is Isaako and TPJ can wait a few weeks at least. Thoughts people? Please put my mind at ease

Capewell vs. Aubo for a stop-gap CTR cover?

Leaning towards Aubo, as you would think he goes to 2RF to cover Cordner at origin time, making him a reasonable option for a rd 13 CTR. Capewell I think is more of a risk - scoring well currently, but with Lewis and Gallen to come back, he may not even make the side in rd 13....
