I just found SJ in my emergencies and Crokers injury gives me Lodges 37. Not a bad day.

Need to pick to ressies from Kori, Hav & Nicholls ?

I thought Isaako's went backwards. Quite often those sort of things are called knock-ons though, so he was a little lucky in that sense to get away with it

Is that stated anywhere though? or is that implied given there is a note relating forward passes to player momentum and no equivalent note for knock-ons? Im referring to the link Krump provided above.

Two rough scores from Koro in a row, but I'd have to stick with him I think. Havili though if you're a gambling man.

Same back 3 here. I'm trying to time it for when the price gap between Thompson and TTrbo is at its lowest, and make the switch then.

Other options are Rapana or RTS and hope they get back to their best

I moved JMK to fullback for this week only and these 3 are auditioning for my team haha
Needed to start moving some of my mid rangers and JMK has more money to make still, so with limited squad space this was the logical move.

In risk vs reward I rank them in this order Rapana/RTS/Trbo (Trbo being the 'safest' selection)
All have their pro's and cons, RTS/Rapana the better byes and price giving them a slight edge

I am leaning towards Rapana but will get one last look at them all before bringing the winner in next week

I can't even find an official definition for a knock on. Heaps of stuff floating around but nothing official anywhere.

@Rippin and Tearin I remember they used to talk about it all the time in games, especially the forward pass and momentum. Not sure if it's written cause I don't care about reading rules lol but it feels unfair because 8 times out of 10 that would've been a knock on

The NRL has "rules of the game" here - https://www.nrl.com/siteassets/documents/Australian-Rugby-League-Laws-and-Rules-of-the-Game-2017.pdf

The rules state that direction of pass is relative to the player making the pass ie momentum.

It is implied that knock on is relative to the ground.

Krump pasted the rules recently. Here are the rules definitions

KNOCK-ON means to knock the ball forward towards the opponents’
dead ball line with hand or arm while playing at the ball.

FORWARD PASS is a throw towards the opponents’ dead ball line (see
    Section 10).

    Relevant part of Section 10

Direction of Pass 1. The direction of a pass is relative to the player making it and
not to the actual path relative to the ground. A player running
towards his opponents’ goal line may throw the ball towards
a colleague who is behind him but because of the thrower’s
own momentum the ball travels forward relative to the
ground. This is not a forward pass as the thrower has not
passed the ball forward in relation to himself. This is
particularly noticeable when a running player makes a high,
    lobbed pass

There is a side note explaining that forward passes are subject to the momentum of the player. there is no such note for knock ons.

Damn Boozey, thought I had a partner in crime with you and Rapana this week.

Couldn't wait any longer after missing him last year when his price dropped. Bottomed out and vs. Titans kinda swayed me not to wait any longer Laughing

Angus Crichton on my radar for next week now. Poor man's Taumalolo and the better option over my initial target of Jake Trb.

BE of 59 this week, playing 80 and still scored well in Rds 2-4 alongside Murray and Burgers.

One problem is that you can't trust commentators during games when they talk about the finer points of the rules. because half the time they don't know what they are talking about and are just guessing.

What the rule as written is doesn't really matter anyway it's how they interpret it and 8 times out of ten thats called a knock on, it shouldn't be but it is.

As in the photos I posted or video close up of him catching of you want to find it he propels the ball towards opposition goal with his left palm into his right wrist which changes the trajectory towards the ground and his goal line and when it hits the ground it becomes and accidental knock on.

A knock-on is committed when, in an attempt to play at the ball, a player knocks the ball towards their opponents' dead ball line with their hands or arms and it touches either the ground, or an opposing player. However, the ball may be knocked back

Only 43 points last night (although Martin will become an AE for me), and I've dropped 700 ranks

7 in action tonight, including Captain Cook.

unless you are short the funds. i think it has to be turbo. another problem is who to run as a back up ctr/wfb for the run home:

if you complete your wfb next week (rnd 10). thats 16 rounds left you are hoping you wont get injuries/suspensions. probably a luxury for now, but midrangers with boom value could be interesting options like fusitiua or cotric

Isaako's right hand is neither the ground, nor an opponent. So the movement of the ball before hitting it is irrelevant.

For sure. I mean the forward pass / momentum things gets talked about lots cause its relevant every single game. The situation with Isaako last night doesn't happen that often.

I agree that you can get bogged down in rules etc, and that pretty much always that would have been called a knock on, but its times like these where the rule book should be dug out so there can be some clarity moving forward IMO.

My backup will either be Hiku, or, preferably, a cheapie DPP player who comes into contention around origin allowing me to downgrade Hiku.

Are we going to make it to three pages of discussion on knock-on rulings or can we move on?

If the Broncos lost the game there wouldn't be so much discussion over such a minor incident. Salty vaginas everywhere this morning.
