Boring post - but a look at who I had considered to trade for Nathan Brown last week, and their scores on the weekend:

    Crichton - 35
    Harris - 44
SJ - crossed out due to injury concerns.. scored 57.. and got injured.
    Hunt - 28
    Matterson - 39
DCE - chose against due to manlys woes, scored 53.

Eyes over Taupau for about 20 seconds but gave him no real thought.

In the end I got Sua's 42 as 18th man.

    Cash outs I considered:
    - Martin - decided to wait a week due to uncertainty, bummer.
    - Fonua - got scared about job security with Lolohea being 'available' for selection next week.
    - Cogger - just glad I stuck to my word on him.

What did I learn? Not alot.

What am I left with? Well I still have Brown who isn't playing, and I've gotta get rid of Sorensen and Gosie. But at least I saved a couple of trades for an extra week, right? Rolling Laugh

Which MN to use is always a bit of guesswork, but the last 2 weeks, the actual MN has been under 14,000.

Its dropping because there is something like $5,000,000 less of salary cap taking the field compared to the start of the season, and they are scoring more points.

I'll probably go 14,000 when I do mine

Likely to have Capewell in the starting line up or the next 4 weeks?

Can we be relatively confident with that?

Every chance Lewis and Graham are both back by round 12. Depends how much of a risk you'er willing to take,

@Milchcow I suppose I could just continue to run Hiku as second centre. Really want to find a way to claw back the guys in the top 20, I guess bringing in a temporary centre isn't the way to do that.

    Hey guys,

Did Alvaro get injured this week? Just looking at the box score during the game it looked to me like he played the first 48 minutes then never came back on (he usually plays a 2nd stint I thought).

Taupau is surely impossible to ignore now. He seems to be putting in new level performances given the injuries to he Manly pack. His minutes are up a bit, but his PPM has gone up heaps. 2 games to work with but if you are interested in him it seems like it is this week or never right? A FRF pairing of Taupau/Fifita is a massive leg up on the opposition at the moment.

I hear SJ is gone for at least 1 week - with only 3 games before their bye do people think he's a trade? Given how careful they seem to have been with him so far this season, Im thinking he misses more than one, and even if he misses just the 2, then he'll still be out for 3 of next 4. Seems like a trade to me, thoughts? Who to partner with DCE if that's the case? pay up for Matterson? take the punt on Arey/Walker? or spend a week with JMK filling the gap?

Whats the story with the Sharks injuries. On the radio the commentators were suggesting Graham will be held out a couple weeks to allow him to get his Hammy sorted. I didn't hear what happened with Sorenson (was it a broken hand)? if so Where does that put things? Lewis still out 1 or 2 more, Gallen due back this week/next? Graham/Sorenson both out for a bit. Chances are Capewell starts for a couple weeks at least right? Seems like a must have given his DPP at C.

What do people think Mannering's role will end up being? Started from the bench this week, and then did he play the 61 minutes straight at lock? I wonder if Kearney will eventually slot him back to an 80 minute lock role? if so, the guy is surely a must buy post round 13 which looks like roughly when he will bottom out in price too.

Would you rather bring in RTS this week or Aitken?

I'd go RTS simply cause C is so sketchy, but also because Capewell should fill a C spot for the next few weeks - more if you are lucky.

Disc: got RTS last week, will get Capewell this week. Probably looking at Aitken post round 13 / when Capewell loses the starting spot.

I have no stats to back this up & it's just an observation but would it be true that RTS scores better with SJ playing. To me it seems SJ creates more space for RTS on attack.

Yup, I was about to post that as a potential negative wrt my post above but hadn't looked at the numbers - It's pretty damming!

    RTS scores with SJ: 43, 90, 55, 24, 35, 62 Ave = 52
    RTS scores with Lino: 14, 19, 50 Ave = 28

And 2 of three of those Lino performances were wins so can't put it down to that.

I think I'm going to ditch Arrow. Likely Surgess, Taupau or Lolo to come in. I'll hopefully bank the other trade unless I fancy cashing out Isaako. Hmmm

    From scores this season.

RTS without SJ = 28 AVG from 3 games
RTS with SJ = 52 AVG from 6 games

So yeah you could say RTS scores better with SJ playing

Got a feeling Radley will be one we will all be making room for in the coming weeks.

I'd stay clear. Mannering looks a little slower this year, with Blair named at lock each week I'm struggling to see where Mannering goes. Don't think he's a second rower anymore, more lock/prop for 60 mins IMO.

Give it a few weeks anyway. He might be a 40 pointer this season (possibly his last too).

Thinking Nicholl's to Capewell, and Thompson to RTS this week. Might grab Rapana for Hiku in a couple weeks depending on how they go.

I have Arrow and SJ though, so need to see what happens there. I have back up for Arrow, but only Cogger for SJ.

Arrow sounds like slipped or dislocated his ribs. Apparently they've sorted it though. Sounds painful lol

Would you bring in JAC now, or Capewell? Capewell cheap and centre security + R13, JAC gains $100k easily be shores up my weak WFB

Yeah Im waiting on news about what they do with him. Something about rib cartilage damage and initial fear (since cleared) that there could have been organ damage as a result.

Sounds pretty rough and you'd think they'd be cautious now with him. I might drop him if he's out even just this one week cause out for one means out for 2 of the next 4 at a minimum and Im thinking clubs with the bye coming up will start to be cautious with their guns. Might even see guys like SJ, Arrow etc out till round 14.

Thanks for that mate! A lot of middle forwards in that Warriors team now aye sonic the arrival of Blair. The rotation as it stands makes sense I guess, but if you can get 80 min out of Mannering you presumably get more impact else where. Dont fix what aint broken I guess though!

Will be interesting to see what happens with Arrow. I could happily go Arrow to Surgess and Hiku to Capewell this week if Arrow is out longer than a week
