re woods. How is it possible to have salary cap space available for a large mid season purchase regardless of Bulldogs paying part salary?

Brock Lamb will be named in the 21 man @NRLKnights squad today but will resume in NSW Cup on Saturday following his cheekbone fracture.

Stupid signing by Sharks, they dont need aynone up front. Young talent for days
I agree, dumb signing. But I guess Gallen and Lewis are on their last legs so want an experienced forward moving forward.

Woods must really regret leaving the Tigers now, especially when they are doing well now.

they could pay 75% and I still believe they don't have cap space. They could do it by paying is pissy 100K this year and back ending in over the next few years Dessie style when Gal and Lewis retire, but there is no wucking fay they could afford even half his contract money at the moment.

Ugh. That was quick. Thought I'd be able to run with Coggar a couple more weeks.

Surprised raiders aren’t interested in woods. Just lost boys and Paulo.
Also I know qld have suffered injuries etc. but $3 is good money

What amazes me re Woods & his potential move away from the Bulldogs is that the Bulldogs moved heaven & earth to buy him offloading several players in the process. Getting rid of those players to meet the salary cap, then Woods ends up in poor form & then pisses off.

What amazes me is how and/or why the Bulldogs signed Foran and Woods, if they were in so much cap trouble already..

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 50
Aaron Woods currently plays less minutes than Matt Prior (the guy he'd replace in the starting lineup)
The bigger impact to Fifita is having Lewis, Graham, Gallen all back in the side reducing his need for massive minutes

With this quiet day, really keen for team lists, even though most will probably be a mess.

I was looking for a NSW logo/mascot for an avatar while I was bored and it came up with heaps of others - this is by far the funniest.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 50
This is my understanding of how the cap and players leaving mid year works..
From all reports Woods is on 800k per year for 4 years. The year runs Nov1 to Oct 31, so this year the Dogs have already paid 466k, they might agree to pay another 150k which means the Sharks only have to pay 180k this year(most teams leave at least that much incase they can pick up a player). Most likely there is an agreement that the Dogs pay half next year and then year 3 & 4 the Sharks pay full weight. The Dogs then have 400k in 2019 to replace Woods and are completely free in 2020/21. Meanwhile the Sharks are on the hook for a minimum of 2.18 for 2018/19/20/21, as its a new contract they can re-arrange that, as long as they pay at least that and have the cap space. So its possible they front load it if they have cap room ie pay him 300k for the rest of this year, 600k in 2019 600k 2020 680k 2021. Woods still gets his full amount but the Sharks get him for what could be considered a bargin (based on the initial 800k per year)

softest head in the league... not sure what to do with him, SJ an option but he can be just as bad with injuries. may have to play TMM another week.wolfking wrote:Matto owners not going to be happy, he is still out.
