2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 50

Just plotted out my team through to round 19. Seems like the following is doable but interested to hear what people think:

Prior to 17: Bringing in Harris, Cleary, McInnes, SJ, and a cash out - should give me 9 players (and probably ~480 points if Im lucky.

Then three more trades to get the final team of:

Cook
Fifita, Taupau
Arrow, Tolo, Crichton
SJ, Cleary
MCK, Hiku
Ponga, Teddy, RTS

Cam, McInnes, JTrbo, ARey

Gutherson, Doueihi, Nuff, Nuff

The kicker is I'll have 1 trade remaining from round 19 and no cover at C.

Currently 35th

Thoughts?

Means I miss out on a couple guys, in particular I'd like Turbo over RTS, but this is my best chance at a top 10 from what I can see. Very much aware that this is probably also my best chance at blowing out to 1000th too

Nah, seriously though - some thoughts:
1 trade left from 19 would worry me....
Do you need all of SJ, Cleary and ARey? Can some money here be used for skipping RTS and going with Turbo?
Where is Harris? Are you brining him in then trading him out? Seems like a waste
I like king Guth as 18th man / looper

Note though that my plans are in a DIABOLICAL state.

Nice plan RT, but I agree with VK that 1 trade horrifies me.

If Cook is a no show this week then I'll be looking at Cook/Murray out for McInnes/SJ. Sitting at 52nd need to make a move up the rankings.

Nah certainly don't need all those three, but the problem is I feel like I do need Cleary and SJ (both of which I don't have now) so the alternative to ditching ARey is to hold Surgess till the end (which Im not keen on). I'd love to get TTurbo, the issue there is not so much money, but trades. Getting him would mean not getting Cook back or JTrbo.

Yup Harris is an in and out. May well be a waste but effectively only costs me one trade as its part of a plan to bring cook in and out too. I don't see Harris as a better scorer than any of my other forwards although I'll concede I could keep Harris and dump Arey.

1 trade left is obviously the big risk. Im happy to take it though. All or nothing for me. I guess I could pace my self and make sure I finish top 100 or so, but that would be boring.

Also I still vividly have in my memory @rabbit telling me to shut it last season and that he'd only listen to me once I beat his all time ranking (104th from memory) so I want to make that challenge as interesting as possible. Perhaps if I get top 10 he might even watch his mouth a bit

Although, I think Harris is perfectly acceptable as a final 17 player. He is on my radar to bring in ahead of r17 and will hang around for the run home (dont read this zora)

Perhaps you have 2 trades for the run home if you keep Harris? 100% more

Yup, you've made me think I should keep Harris, and ditch Arey

If I want both of Cook and JTrbo from 18 then I have to trade out one of them though. I think having those two at the expense of a trade is worth it.

Who knows though aye, pretty much impossible to look 6 rounds out without a lot changing in the mean time. Good to have a base strategy to work from though I reckon!

I still want to hold Matterson and trade Murray.

If I'd known a few weeks ago that he'd be out this long i might have traded, but for just 2 more weeks I think I might keep him.

Just have to decide SJ, Cleary or Milf as long term partner for DCE in my halves

Huh? I don't have a problem with you or anyone lol. I think you completely misinterpreted what I was asking. Was simply asking where the poster was that replied how he does, I thought it was the poster "Trajan" but I wasn't 100% sure. When people don't post for a while I like to ask where they are, prime example is Jstands if you remember him. I've asked a couple times but nobody seems to know.
