Bit of other June 30 news - apparently Dean Ritchie on big sports breakfast said lichaa is heading to the Tigers as well. Posted on wt forum so thought I'd share it here.

I don't get stressed - usually super chill but I feel 5% stressed about what to do for this round. It feels like a make or break round for me whether I have a REAL crack at winning it or I fade into obscurity.

This is the whole point of a salary cap - the line has to be drawn somewhere. unforutnately in manlys case they aren't doing anything dodgy, but if they can't fit a suitable backup hooker in their top 30, that's their cap mismanagement, not really the NRL's fault.
There are 2 lines being drawn. Nobody has a problem with Manly paying Fainu a salary to be part of their system.
Its their ability to play in first grade players whose wages they are already paying that's an issue.
And whilst Manly may have cap issues, in this case its really just signing 1 guy that didn't work out, and then having some bad luck with injuries (Is Croker didn't get injured they wouldn't need Hodkinson and migth have room for a hooker)
Its hard to predict in February, what positions your cover in for your first grade team will need cover for in June. If they'd included Fainu in the first grade squad then someone else woul dmiss out.
Tevita Funa is the only player (other than Fainu) listed on the Manly squad page that hasn't been in first grade this year - so its not like they have a host of unnecessary players in their top 30.
People hate Manly so they don't really care if they get stuffed around, but with a bit of bad luck almost any team could be prevented from playing their best lineup
Ideally Brisbane would be forced to play Jack Bird at halfback and Sam Thaiday at hooker - maybe then I'd be happier with the rule.

We need a hooker. One that is capable of getting some attacking flow going. Playing ET there for long periods is not the answer.
If Liddle isn't capable (and at the moment it looks like he isn't) then we need to find someone who is.
Lichaa may not be ideal, but he is much better than what we have now.

My suggestion is to be mindful of the kiwi players not backing up rnd 16. If you bring in SJ and Harris. Round 16 could mean you have to bring two benchies into your scoring 17. you also have Hiku who might not back up so potentially 3 players.Tanseyman wrote:Trades

A.Fifita /J.Arrow

DCE /S.Johnson
J.Isaako/P.Hiku
J.Tedesco/K.Ponga/M.Mbye

D.Cook/ J.Friend/ C.Murray/ S.Katoa
Emergency
R.Martin/ A.Brimson/ T. Maire Martin/ T.Paseka
Any suggestions ?
I am thinking of having the same two players in my 17 but am put off by harris now

Just remember, if you don't captain a winger, then you don't deserve victory.
More seriously, I am reverting to captain cook this week.. Him or Smith are the standouts for me.
And if you are going to captain Cook (or anyone playing tonight) put a VC from tonight as well if possible to maximise flexibility during the round.

Over the last month/6 weeks maybe the Warriors have been winning, then losing. winning, losing, etc so if they follow this trend they will lose to the Cowboys.

If SJ and Harris are missing for Rd16 then I'll be playing 2 of Martin (if he's around), Watson, Fonua or Brimson.
I think I'll manage in theory
Watson at home vs Doggies
Fonua at home vs Titans are most likely candidates

I'd be dumping Martin if I was you, to Gallen or someone similar. Maybe even Wade Graham to give you another $100k to upgrade Murray next week. Katoa on the bench should be avoided at all costs while you have trades up your sleeve this week!! Looks like a strong 13 though.

With that nightingale news I'm just sticking with the one trade of Murray to Harris. Can cover Harris if he misses a game.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 53
No doubt we need someone but I'd rather wait than tie up cap money for the next couple of years on him. I'd give him a one year deal tops and I'd want the Dogs paying most of that to consider it.Milchcow wrote:

SJ, Brown and RFM in this week! Considered Big Papa and Cook but will hold out until after Round 17. If you’ve got suggestions on any other players (who play Round 17) that’d be great. I know my back five and Brimson are weak links!
Smith
Fifi Arrow
Lolo Harris Su’A
SJ Brimson
Hiku Isaako
Ponga Latrell Fonua
McInnes RFM TPJ NBrown
Kikau Radley TMM Martin

Great call, Milchy - VC will be irrelevant (won't come into play) if your captain plays tonight.
Will change my VC to Inglis

Martin and Lane to Jurbo and Brown is worth it in the long run yeah? Just think I want them in my team ASAP while I can afford them. Is Murray to Hetherington a good cash out?

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 53
Ive got the following players in my "out pile" over the coming weeks. Ive ranked them IMO order of importance to get them out.
Havili
Murray
Martin
Arey
Fonua
Looking at trading out three of them this week for Mcinnes, SJ and someone like Mann.
Anyone care to disagree?

Cheers mate, although this shouldn't affect anyones plans - I can't imagine people were brining in Mann to be part of their 17 this week.... right?
