Playing a club game the week before the bye round would be a lot more practical.Milchcow wrote:
Study I just quoted suggested somewhere between 2500m and 2800m is where it makes a difference. Denver is 1600m
That was more a study about comparative advantage to the home team rather than recovery time on athletes who play there.
I'd say the jetlag from flying in and flying out on longhaul flights over multiple connections will be a bigger issue than the altititude.
I understand the appeal of playing a game in the USA, but mid-season is just the wrong time do it.

And also, whats the current rules around jumping from country to country? Asked the other day, but RFM for example seems to have made the switch from Samoa to NZ. Can you switch as many times as you want to? There was talk of whether or not the most recent Kiwi defects to the Tongan team (Tolo, Fusitua etc) might come back to the Kiwis for the Denver test... The whole thing seems bizarre to me if you can just pick every year who you want to play for!

the RLIF and subject to the condition that a Player may only make

People are jumping all over Holland and he's not a terrible pick but when he was averaging 44 points (I think I read that somewhere), he was kicking goals in a team that finished 7th on the ladder, averaging 21 points a game.
Dogs currently averaging 15 points a game and sitting in 15th place.
I'm not saying don't buy him in, just be realistic what you expect out of him.

Only averaging one less try a game. Apart from the other attacking stats Holland may have got from the additional try on average, the extra goal wont make much of a difference to his score. Ill only jump on him if he is named and likely to stay starting for the foreseeable future.

I have the exact cash = Fonua out - BJ Leilua in
Leilua @ 468k with a b/e of 32 seems a steal & with Hodgson back the whole flow of the team will improve. Thoughts & thanks.

An easy criticism of Bj's scoring potential is the absence of Rapana, its yet to be seen if this will be a positive or negative impact, im inclined to say it will have a positive impact on his scores, he is more likely (than usual) to hog it. In saying that I was super impressed with Oldfield, not flash at all. But was very solid.

Hard to quantify that I guess, but that is basically 1 goal kick and some attacking opportunities.
Perhaps he becomes a mid 30s player all else equal?

At a glance, Fonua to Holland and Doueihi to.. 12k short of RTS. Maybe Hoppa.
Plenty of curveballs to come this weekend though, so probably a waste of time trying to figure anything out until Wednesday next week.
Looks like I'll have Fifita, Burgers, Taumalolo, Cook, Crichton, Munster, Hiku, Ponga(?) and RFM all potential injury/suspension risks across the meaningless games.
Hoppa to keep an eye on too if I pull the trigger on him. Could be a good POD with the extra game vs. the teams with two of Teddy, Tom and Mbye. Saves me a boatload of cash either way.

Think the only worry in my team atm is TPJ,if he is not right to play next week then he will become Surgess or Hodgson I think(have no cash at all) Ideally he will play 17 at least and then I can use Sua to upgrade him. Otherwise I think my team looks pretty good but I’m open to any ideas to be thrown at me?

Without going back I remember him being a bit of a let down but I'll see if I have something a little less anecdotal.Rippin and Tearin wrote:Anyone have stats on Hoppa at Fullback? Thats where we assume he will be from now aye!?
6 games in 2015 for an average of 30. Played FB all year in 2016 and averaged 38.
