You’re volunteering to do 50 push ups, and you reckon Trent Barrett is mad.

Anybody think putting Arrow in over Taupau is now worth the shot?

Barrett never ceases to amaze me with how poor his utilization of Taupau has been.
Poor bloke will waste his career at Manly, he could be the best forward in the game given the right circumstances.

Lino lining up in ressies today so Blake Green good to go. With Luke and Harris dropping out probably won't know about Hiku till just before kick off

I don't know why people are worried re Taupau because he'll still play the same minutes off the bench.

Gonna play Taupau over an injured Arrow. Barrett is still strange.

Assistant coach John Cartwright said Taupau has had some personal issues throughout the week, hasn’t been able to make training, and it’s a big effort for him to be playing today.

It's not just about the minutes a player has, it's also important when during the game they have them.
Starting props usually have two stints with a rest in between, which lets them have a better workload than those that come off the bench and play in one big stint. Also, at the start of the game nobody is terribly tired and the defense can work together better as a team so nobody is missing tackles as a result of a broken line. The only advantage of coming off the bench might be that they can find some TBs against an already tired defence, but since both sides usually have some fresh men coming on about the same time I find this is usually pretty negligible. IMO You always want your player starting regardless of whether their minutes change or not.

That said, I have decided to stick with Taupau

Very interesting logic. I hope it will work out for you or else you'll end up look like an ass!

I have to play both Taupau and Arrow but if Marty can get a 40, I'll be happy.

I hope he is okay. Seems like a nice gentle guy.

I know it gets annoying when someone is whinging about the same thing every week but I'd just like to reiterate that surely there are thousands of better options for the commentary gig than Blocker Roach.
