How are we going to start the season with both Cook and CS9? That's going to take a fair chunk of the budget, but at least you know you get value for money

Cook & Fainu. You choose 1 of Cook or Smith as your premium captaincy option. It's the same when Smith & Farah used to be the 2 top hookers a few years ago & you couldn't afford both. Cook has usurped Smith now so Smith misses out.

@ nrl physio - Smith's foot injury is a tendon issue not an achilles tendon which is good news. It can settle quickly if minor, reports he could be back to full training by Wednesday.

Cook and Fainu sounds like a good combo, and Smith can only go downhill from here on.

Smith will be 36 next year so you could possibly see a decline. In fact next year you could argue that McInnes & Farah could very well match Smith & then you have Fainu but there is the issue of Koroisau affecting his game time.

Fainu is going to have a huge price tag. Current average of 57 will see him just under Smith, priced higher than Fifita and Ponga

Fainu is going to be expensive! Ave 57 means about 850k in this year's prices, minus 15% discount if he plays no more games this year but as little as 3% is he plays the season out. So 720-830k. Gun price. Plus Api is back.

Is Koroisau going anywhere? Won't he be first choice hooker next year. Why would people get Fainu, even if he was cheap.

Boyd is back to fullback at Broncos training today, Isaako wing.

Shibasaki is training at left centre. Looks like Kahu is dropped.

Was hoping Shiba would be a cheapie for next season..

Why are people looking to start with Fainu next year?

People guessing that he'd be cheap and forgetting about Api. I think he might get the start over Api but even so he'll be way too expensive to even consider.

Agreed. Maybe they'll try to have both in the starting 13 with Koroisau in the hlfs. Fainu seems too much of a talent to have on the bench playing low minutes & Koroisau usually plays 80 minutes. Maybe Fainu goes to another club.

I think Fainu is in court tomorrow, it'll be interesting to see what will happen. Corey Norman got 8 weeks in 2016 for a similar offense

but then that included the casino incident as well

Reading an article from the daily telegraph dated 07/07/18 they said if found guilty in court on 07/08/18 then he could have his Manly contract terminated. Maybe this solves the Koroisau v Fainu issue.

If he has already been found guilty he should be stood down after his court date. Norman missed games, pearce missed games so should he.
