I'd be playing Lewis. He got 30 points in KM alone this last week and looks like he would usually get at least 15 points as base stats there. The kid just looks like Quality too. Yup hate to say it on this thread but with 18 players if you do want to give yourself the best chance I would look to loop mate!

Holland's stakes will rise if Martin is out with the GK too. He's been gunning it anyway!

I agree with this. They have a fairly short turnaround so it would definitely be best for them to rest him for a week.

Luck has really deserted me in the last couple of weeks. If Martin and Aitken are out with the possibility of McInnes too this could be my team for the last round welp

    Cook
    Fifita James
    Taumalolo Jurbo Arrow
    SJ ARey
    Mitchell
    Tedesco Turbo Isaako

    Smith
    Farah
    Lewis
Nobody if Hetherington or McInnes don’t play

Was looking at top 100 2 weeks ago, will be lucky for top 500 now sigh

Mate, 100 points is very doable.

You have a few things up your sleeve in this match-up too.

    1) he may not be able to field 17 - might be a stretch but Im half expecting both Martin and McInness to be out this week. If he doesn't have any trades left then at best he plays with 17. If someone else gets rested then he's down a man.

A lot of your strategy will then follow from team naming but other advantages you may have:

    2) Ability to loop - I'd tactically consider looping a common player and hope they have a shocker (arrow maybe). In that case you could loop in Lewis and maybe make up some of the gap if you are lucky.

    3) Captain choice - I think its likely he is gonna go Cook - I guess you are now forced into a different option. The obvious one for me is Tolo given he is a POD anyway. If Tolo goes huge you could pick up most of that 100 points in one player!

    4) You have a number of other PODs too. RTS v TTrbo could easily flip on its head this week and give you 50. I dont like you halves match-up but regardless in a one off game you might get lucky. Souths with a lot to play for and Wests nothing and Manly might get flogged in Brissy...

I think you have a decent shot mate. As you say, you just need a bit of luck.

Thanks mate, great advice as always. Lots to think about.
Some team list carnage would really work in my favour.
    Glad it is almost over.

1 trade left which will look like Martin to a WFB, probably RTS as thats all I can afford.  Will have no CTR or WFB cover after that though so fingers crossed.  Looks like will have to play ARey and Arrow.

If Martin is out I will probably run two seperate loops.

Regular loop with Martin's red-dot between Brimson and Lewis.

My centre loop between Waqa and Holland (CTR: Olive, 20: Waqa, 21: Holland. Swap Holland if Waqa is crap)

Any other outs will mean I spend my last trade.

In other news I ended up on 1,010 and that was enough to drop me from 695 to 698. Strange round.

I was flying at 303rd after Saturday's games. Had better than halved my rank. But having both Aitken and Martin really stung. Combined with Mitchell I got 1034 and sit 448th... which would normally be a celebration. Cost me my h2h prelim final against my mate too which is the ultimate insult. Can't imagine how you feel Zora, I was frustrated enough without having the whole competition in the balance. So much bad luck

Unused trades at end of 2018 season now carry over to start of 2019 as additional to the 34 you normally get.

At this point, IMO, if you had saved a trade till now you probably would hold it during the round in the hope that there was a last minute 'out' that you could then cover for. If it wasn't for injury then Im not sure why you would save a trade until this late anyway... Same logic therefore applies I would have thought.

    Exactly this.

You'd feel stupid if you'd held a trade til now and figured upgrading Arrow to Leilua was a good move and then Fifita/Taumalolo were a late withdrawal.
Especially if Arrow pumped out a 90 after Ryan JAmes went down injured in the first few minutes.

(all the fantasy things happening in this scenario! Laughing )

Yeah, this is what I would probably do, but I will need a back if Aitken is out so I will have to use mine.

I just noticed LAM scored 91 what a gun. With him going to the Warriors next year he could be a great option if he gets over 50 minutes per game. I did mention him but didn't have the balls to buy him.

I think being able to run two simultaneous loops is invaluable. I will use the trade only if I need to replace one of my key players or someone late in the round withdrawing.

TLT could potentially change these plans anyway.

Yes! Before I even saw this I was going to suggest a harmless kidnapping. Just hide him away and let him out after the game. No unnecessary injuries, no harm done, right? Who can sort this out for us?

You are too nice, but yes this seems reasonable enough haha.

Anyone want to do this?  I will pay a dollar a point that Robbie gets past the 60 minute mark!

I've got experience in this area, Han and I have stowed away a bunch of alien scum for this purpose, I'm sure I can find a temporary spot for Liddle below deck
