If Sivo doesn't score a try - we can probably expect a score in the 25-30 range (or lower) and drop a bit of cash.

CNK's non try average is 36, and his 2 lowest scores came whilst Hodgson was out (could be just coincidence)

Also if we get injuries in halves/centre this week we're going to need to spend trades there, and could be forced to rely on whoever is left out of Sivo/CNK, where I back CNK as the better option.

I think SJ is a must at his price to cover the halves. $200k less than all the other top halves.

OK yeah, so at round 17 that would look like:
    Cook
    Fifita Haas
    Murray, Lolo, Taupau
    Milford, Ponga
    Nikora, Bateman
    Teddy, RTS, TTrbo

    CS9, CM9, SST, TWal
    SJ, Staggs, cash out, Brittain

    OR

    Cook
    Fifita Haas
    Murray, Lolo, JTrbo
    Milford, SJ
    Nikora, Bateman
    Teddy, RTS, Ponga

    CS9, CM9, SST, Taupau
    TWal, Staggs, cash out, Brittain

I think after you get a look at SJ for a couple weeks you soon know if he can hold down the second half spot without being a liability. Then you can make the call on who to upgrade Xerri to.

Sees to make sense. The key is just to make sure we keep enough money after next round to make the arguably more important round 17 trades!

Seems like its worth putting to the vote then.

Is the only poll we need then, who out for RTS out of Sivo and CNK?

CNK for RTS is one of my trades this week as he is bleeding too much cash and I do not think he will score as consistently as others from here. Cash is going to be a problem in getting in Turbo and I only have 2 halves, one of which is Cleary, who I want to keep for the run home. I only have 9 trades. Therefore, in order to generate cash and have a backup half I am selling Havili early this week for Dylan Brown, which leaves me $1 short to get Turbo rather than RTS this week.

Gidday mate, meant to reply to you earlier. Welcome to the forum. Just to confirm, this thread is here to specifically talk about the forum community team. If you are keen on discussing your own personal team (and seeing others talk about their teams) there are other threads for that. The current one is NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 64

By all means post in this thread too when it comes to the forum team if you have thoughts to share!

Sorry to mess up your thread R & T. I am new to the site. Finding navigation a bit complicated. Thanks for the link.

One comment on your team - I can see the attraction of SST in NRL SuperCoach but in this competition I prefer Matterson going forward as having the greater potential overall.

No not at all mate - was just letting you know so you can get the feedback you are after regarding your own team.

I prefer Matterson going forward too although SST is a done deal - already in the side. Matterson was deemed a wait and see a couple weeks back when we got SST due to Origin risk.

This week and next week probably the last big trade decisions for the team, after that we'll just be coasting and hoping for no injuries.

Have to make decisions about whether to carry Ponga and Milford.

Havili and Sivo on the tradeout list.
Maybe AFB too but I'm starting to be wary of trading out fit players.

For future trades If Levi returns soon, then Xerri+ Watson could together provide our Cook funds.

Other than Twal, is there anyone we are keen on this week as a final player.
Hopefully we get a good base price player or 2 to choose from in TLT this afternoon.

Yeah, I'll take a look at this post TLT.

Key decsisions to make this week will have to take into account what we are doing next week too - i.e. Cook? etc.

I propose that people put forward a 2 week plan that we vote on because I think otherwise we risk not having enough cash to do what we want to do next week.

I think Walters and Nicholls are better bets for R16 points than broncos wingers.
Do we need 1 or 2 cash outs.

I guess the main thing is who we keep out of Ponga/Milford or if we ditch them both.

Will do some sums later if we get a chance, but I think we make 3 or 4 trades this week

Biggest problem is with Ponga unreliable and Watson perhaps not our best option, who do we use as our 3rd WFB for the run home?

Watson and Xerri become Cook + best we can afford week after, and then run the rest of the way home with 1-2 trades and hope for the best.

I'll have a look now. Working backwards from next weeks trades will be the way to go. Will post my thoughts on an option shortly.

EDIT: Im actually really struggling with this team. With Ponga Milford Watson and Sivo in our team, Im not sure I see a viable option that doesnt involve trading 4 times this week and twice the next....

The issue is making sure we have 2 halves and 3 WFBs in our team for round 17, and then also that we have WFB and Half cover as well.

I'll chuck up an option as a starting point... hopefully we can figure something out.

OK guys, need some help on this one.

I feel like we have two options:
    (1) Trade 5 times this week and next and hold Ponga
    (2) Trade 6 times this week and ditch Ponga

    For option (1), here’s a possibility
    This week:
    Milford $743k to SJ $563k – cost -$180k
    Sivo $497k to – DCE $708 cost $201k
    Havili $425k to Walters $212k – cost -$213k

    Cash remaining ~$408k

    Next week
    Watson $646k to Cook $826k – cost $180k
    Xerri $485k to Burns $443k – cost -$40k

From 17 the team would be:

    Cook
    Haas Fifita
    Murray Tolo Taupau
    SJ DCE
    Bateman Nikora
    Teddy RTS Burns

    CS9 CM9 SST AFB
    Ponga Staggs Walters Brittain

    2 Trades left and ~$260k

Would have to play Burns in week 17 and then Ponga would slip into WFB, Burns to 18th man thereafter. The major negative is we wouldn't really have half cover for late outs, although if we suspected something we could play Burns in the WFB spot and put Ponga in the reserves. Positive is Walters looks like he would be a great loop option with Melbourne tending to play quite late in the rounds from here on. Heaps of money to deal with injuries if they came up.

    ===========================================================================================================================

    For option (2), here’s a possibility:

    This week:
    Milford $743k to SJ $563k – cost -$180k
    Sivo $497k to – DCE $708 cost $201k
    Havili $425k to Brimson $513k – cost $88k
    Ponga $800k to TTrbo $753k – cost -$47k

    Cash remaining $154k

    Next week
    Watson $646k to Cook $826k – cost $180k
    Xerri $485k to Burns $443k – cost -$40k

From 17 the team would be:

    Cook
    Haas Fifita
    Murray Tolo Taupau
    SJ DCE
    Bateman Nikora
    Teddy RTS TTrbo

    CS9 CM9 SST AFB
    Burns Brimson Staggs Brittain

    1 Trades left and ~10k

Bit riskier with the 1 trade left, but have the depth to cover all positions including half, C, and wfb, with arguably the best cover possible (excluding Ponga). Also easily have the best back three, again assuming Ponga is out of the picture.

    Wondering what people think.

In any case, I do believe we cant trade this week without incorporating next week, so lets put up vote options that span two weeks.

I rate option 2 there. Having the cover makes up for the trade.

Only having a $10k bank is ugly if one of the cheaper guys needs a trade though.

Cheers mate, yeah I agree. There's potential to look at cheaper options that DCE and Brimson, but nothing really jumped out at me.

Halves cheaper that DCE you are looking at Brooks I guess. (cheaper by ~$20k) plays 16 so could average 5 less and still be on par with DCE. To be honest, that might be a better bet.

Current averages put them at 56 and 49 respectively, but DCE losing the GK and also possibly puts that in Brook's favour over the course of the season. And the $20k while not much would be really nice.

In terms of DPP half/WFBs there is slim pickings but could certainly go with someone cheaper (and round 16 options might be more sensible).

Moylan 418k (save nearly $100k on Brimson - plays 16)
Hughes $532k (more expensive than Brimson by $20k but plays 16)
Gutherson $365k (cheapest option but he's been pretty average this year - doesnt play 16).

With one trade left you probably do want a bit of coin in the bank to make sure your ast trade can be a good one....

    Perhaps a Brooks/Moylan instead of DCE/Brimson??

Would leave more like $120k in the bank and hopefully add another 30 points to the overall score at the expense of shittier cover...

Interesting bringing in players that are on the bye/origin this week. I don't quite follow that tbh. I probably need to reread when I have some time

Yeah I get you, although If you have a play round with the team you'll see the conundrum. Perhaps you can find a better alternative. The issue arises from needing halves and WFBs to feild a 17 and have cover as well as needing to get in Cook.

I just came up with the best I could in my break this morning at work. Hopefully others come up with some alternatives and something better than me Smile

Coming in raw after staring at the team for a few minutes..

Who I'd be happy to fuck off?

    Milford
    Sivo
    Havili
    Brittain

    = 1,949,000

Who I could bring in for HLF/WFB?

    Brooks
    Johnson
    Coates
    Farnworth

    = 1,674,000

Leaves a bank of 491 counting the 216 we already have to get on Cook for Xerri with ~170k left if Xerri makes his 48 BE.

Our HLF/WFB combo for Rd 17 would look like:

    SJ, Brooks
    RTS, Watson, Teddy

If Teddy's rested, we hopefully get one of Coates or Herbie holding their spot for a week. Kennar injured, Oates didn't back-up from origin 1 and Isaako and Boyd have some question marks.

Mightn't be the best plan of attack, but it's what I came up with when thinking HLF/WFB.

I'd also like to target Twal and/or Matterson somehow. Twal a bit cheaper, so him over Brooks perhaps, but then we're really relying on those Broncs wingers holding their spot, especially if Teddy's rested again.

Noticed Brimson mentioned when scrolling down. I checked his numbers for Mulvy before that 26 last week and he had averaged 45.7 from 9 games at FB counting last year. More like 43.5 now, but could be a good back-up HLF/WFB.

Xerri to Burns is completely sideways, even more so with so few trades left. You're using one of your last trades to get an, at best, marginally better 18th man? Not worth it at all.

I wouldn't be trading Ponga either.

Edit... looking a bit further, I'd be trading Milford and Havili to SJ and whoever you can afford to go Watson & Sivo to DCE and Cook next week, maybe even the week after, given high BEs and possible origin resting and needing wing cover if Ponga out. Then 3 trades left.
