CNK to RTS is the only obvious trade for next week at this point.

Maybe we'll look at AFB to a R16 player (perhaps Matterson/Twal depending on origin selection)

Unless team lists/rep round throw up an obvious cash out I think we bring RTS in next week and then wait for R16 team lists to see what downgrades/upgrades we need.

Staggs wouldnt be a terrible option. I know he is more pricy, but we are going to have to change tack quite a bit anyway given cash generation changes.... But Im guessing its all getting a bit late... Probably best to leave it as is unless someone has time to put a poll to the group.

I'd love to avoid the 5 from Xerri, but can see there's nothing obvious that jumps out!

Am thinking CNK to RTS next week and probablly not making any more trades for round 16. No one appeals other than perhaps Lattrell if not re-picked for origin as he may go big. I'm short of anyone I want to trade out. Only other trade I am thinking of is Turbo in for Havili after round 17 and then my team is set for the run home. At this stage I am thinking to keep Matterson who I have had from the start rather than bring in Jurbo. Is Jurbo essential for the run home this year when others have a similar average?

Assuming no late outs we have 16 good scorers, and we can use Fifita to loop between 2 of Havili/Xerri/Staggs

With 8 trades left I don't think we can afford to ditch Fifita.

CNK/Sivo to RTS makes sense for 1 trade.

If we make another trade it's probably Havili to go out but I'm not sure who it would be for.
We can't afford a proper gun, and I'd rather wait a week for a cashout to make sure we get someone playing.

Not sure there are any mid rangers out there in a position like Watson of a couple rounds ago.

I think hold a week and then Sivo+Havili to cash out + gun

Any other ideas?

Burns is 422k.

Is he worth it as a cashout/emergency CTR/WFB cover for the run home?

Doubt we'll be able to profit from any cash he makes, so he'd be a bit on the expensive side for a cashout, but probably acceptable points for 18th/19th man for the run home, assuming he picks up where he left off

I like trading Sivo over CNK. The try scoring run has to come to an end and I prefer a fullback for points stability. Unless we want to move on Havili I'm pretty happy with just the 1 trade

I think we want to trade both CNK and Sivo by next week - so I guess the decision is who will score most this week and next, and who will make the most cash in the next 2 weeks.

CNK going to drop more cash than Sivo, but might score more points

Whoever we pick to trade out will score 70

I vote to punt CNK due to the cash bleed

Way i would usually look at it, CNK form dip, shown flashes of being borderline WFB keeper early season so he is due a return to form

Sivo, can't keep scoring tries, but been saying that since R8

I think you can make a case that CNK will score more than Sivo this week, and its possible the cash difference will be close enough as to not be that critical.


If for some reason mass injuries force us to hold on to one of CNK/Sivo longer term I'd also rather have CNK in my team.

Before we trade next week we will absolutely need to come up with a 2 week plan IMO. I’ve had a bit of a play today, and Im going round in circles a bit to be honest – would love to see how others see this going, although perhaps its better to wait a week. For what its worth though:

We have taken a massive hit on cash making of late so here’s my revised weekly update of where I see our team could go. I’m assuming we go CNK to RTS this round which ill leave 7 Trades and $216k.

At a minimum the guys we will presumably trade out:
Sivo (Round 16 - 525k),
Havili (Round 16 - 445k)
Xerri (535k - round 17)
Watson (700k round 17)

Trading those guys out means we need to pick up a WFB or Half prior to round 17 and Im assuming we will definitely want Cook.

The key decision therefore becomes, who do we get in as that WFB/Half ? Do you go SJ for a cheap option who plays 16, or do you stump up the cash for a TTrbo/Munster type guy? Or both.

The numbers (historical averages vs current price) suggest SJ would be the way to go so I’ll roll with that for now. The trouble is that basically forces you into three trades in 16 if you want to get a Matterson type guy for 16 as well.

Sivo to SJ (round 16 cost $25k)
AFB to Matterson (round 16 $80k)
Havili to cash out (round 16 -$200k)

Leaves ~$310k in the bank prior to 17.

Watson to Cook (round 17 cost $135k)

Leaves ~$170k, 3 trades left and no half/wfb back up. Team would be:

Cook
Fifita Haas
Murray, Lolo, Matterson
Milford, SJ
Nikora, Bateman
Teddy, RTS, Ponga

CS9, CM9, SST, Taupau
Xerri, Staggs, cash out, Brittain

I guess at that point you re-evaluate SJ and see what makes sense. Trouble is, Xerri + $170k doesn’t get you TTrbo/JTrbo/Munster – rather it gets you ARey/Cleary/Klemmer type guys.

TLDR – we are in a tough spot – probably best to just do the one trade this week (CNK to RTS?), but then seriously figure out a 2 week plan to make sure we get things right when we trade in round 16!

I think you can make any case as a one off, particularly when it comes to WFBs.

IMO the trouble we have right now is cash generation.... Any money we lose now, becomes a sacrifice down the line. Because we still have over 10 rounds left, 10-20 points this week will be dwarfed by what $20 - 30k extra lost this week would mean over the season. The reality is the bigger chance for lost money is CNK.

Given I think its highly unlikely we keep CNK for the long haul I feel the safer play is dump CNK this week.

I traded out Sivo some weeks ago. CNK for RTS is one of my trades this week as he is bleeding too much cash and I do not think he will score as consistently as others from here. Cash is going to be a problem in getting in Turbo and I only have 2 halves, one of which is Cleary, who I want to keep for the run home. I only have 9 trades. Therefore, in order to generate cash and have a backup half I am selling Havili early this week for Dylan Brown, which leaves me $1 short to get Turbo rather than RTS this week.

Simple change is to go Twal instead of Matterson. similar points for $85k less.

I think SJ is a must at his price to cover the halves. $200k less than all the other top halves.
