Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
214th Overall
Dearden is a bummer, means Ponga has to go back into the halves (depending on trades)
Rein out is a given
Sivo, CNK, Mahoney, dearden the others we'd like to consider.
Havili should have at least another week
For future planning, i think Xerri to Cook in R17/18 might work, although we will need a cash reserve to afford it.
Trade ins
HLF and WFB are the most urgent
RTS, TTrbo the top WFBs or take a punt on Pap/Edwards/DWZ/Some crazy POD
Plenty of options for halves - Pearce the best R16 option, or go for an origin/bye player and forget the missing round
for other positions.
Cook and Jtrbo the top players we are missing but I figure wait until after origin.
Twal, Matterson, Taukeiaho, KBrom all decent R16 options, but if we trade in anyone like that at thi spoint it needs to be as a keeper.
We probably want a bit of cash with Dearden and Havili not performing as well as we'd like so any R16 cheapies around should be considered (primarily as downgrade rather than cash generation)

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
Thinking out loud here. We have 11 trades left, $118k and 7 trades we probably need to make through to round 17 - leaves 4 for the run home, or space to use 1 or 2 of those trades for extra round 16 points.
The guys we will trade out are (with cash value projections to likely time of trade out):
Rein (667k), Mahoney (645k), Sivo (512k), CNK (525k), Dearden (348k), Havili (470k), Xerri (600k - round 17).
The cash we likely get from those guys therefore is 3767k + cash (118k) => total = 3.885m
Then if you want 17 guns + a decent 18th man the 7 players to bring in would be made up of 2 cash outs (hopefully round 16 playing) the 18th man and 4 guns. 2 of the guns need to be a half and WFB (so lets say Pearce $762k and RTS $597k, 1 has to be Cook $875k, and for arguments sake the 4th is JTrbo ($761k). 18th man you probably want DPP C/WFB of which there are a few in the $430k range. To be safe, lets say we have to pay $500k total for our two cash outs...
Total money required for that lot is 3.925m so we are 40k short but I have been purposefully conservative on projections so I think realistically we are still on target, but only just.....
Therefore in terms of trades this week I'd suggest we start working toward that kind of plan, but obviously with flexibility around who we trade in.
Rein - no briainer, need to trade out.
Havilli - BE 13, 3 round ave 43, need him for some cash generation, he's a hold this week, and hopefully next too.
Mahoney - BE 53, average 50, not an urgent trade, but certainly we could upgrade from him.
Sivo - BE 43, average 38, probably the more pressing trade but covers WFB this week potentially.
CNK - BE 47, average 42, would put him in the same boat as Sivo, but he's a safer option to start.
Dearden - I think he's a hold this week as we can use him for the loop and probably just aim to trade him out before 16 to a round 16 playing cash out.
We could potentially go Rein to Pearce but then we have no cash in the bank to afford any other upgrade unless we triple traded. The issue with that is Im not too keen on trying to pick a round 16 playing cash out three rounds in advance of team lists. It might be sensible for that to be the only trade then. It also gives us a week to let RTS's price drop.
There's several looping options as well if we did that.
My personal opinion is that we could also look at pulling trigger on a few other options to max our round 16 points.
E.g. we could go AFB to Matterson at round 16 if Matterson doesn't get named for Origin.
Also or alternatively, if we have the money, we could also look to turn guys like Pearce/RTS into TTrbo /DCE after Origin as well.
I'd personally use at least one of our spare 4 trades, maybe 2 to boost our total scoring a bit.
TLDR - bolded bits is probably my preference at this stage.

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
The thing I haven't really thought about is round 16 playing cash-outs. If there is someone obvious we should pick up this week then I am all for that!!
I wondered about Carrigan? Will he get a start in the second row in round 16 with Ofa, Fifita, Gillett, possibly Glenn, all out?

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
Is Watson worth considering as our 18th man, but potentially a good upgrade at WFB for a while and someone that is DPP and plays round 16?
I think he's certainly worth a shot assuming he either maintains the hooker roll or slots back into half once Levi comes back.

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
One question we should answer is whether we want RTS, TTurbo or both.
Having both puts Ponga in halves or reserves. And if we want both, we may not want to pull the trigger on a half this week.
I agree with RnT that no need to trade heavily this week.
We don't have the cash to go for 2 guns, and no obvious downgrade options.
Our main trade in targets are going to drop cash (RTS, Ttrbo) or we probably want to wait until post origin for (Cook, JTurbo)
If we were going a 2nd trade it would be Mahoney for a R16 gun
SST, Twal are my personal choices, but KBrom, Finucane, Matterson also options (origin being a slight risk due the latter 2)

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
My problem with Watson is other than R16, what position will he play for what points.
Is he long term replacement for Levi, or will we end up with an 18th man giving us 20 points from the bench
He is quite expensive to be taking a punt on.

My eyeball of this:
>>> I like Rein to a half - let a vote pick who
>>> Balls out second trade to ditch Mahoney for a r16 pod weapon. KBrom or Twal imo

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
Re RTS vs TTrbo, I much prefer TTrbo. But its price dependent. I think its quite good if we can wait a week to see how they go.
Re Watson, yeah I think he is a pricy risk, BUT, if we got three rounds from him between now and 16 at 50 points while he plays hooker, I think he is then serviceable as an 18th man for half/WFB cover. Best case scenario he goes great and keeps that hooking role... I just dont have enough insight on that one to know how that is likely to play out.
Really its just an idea, perhaps one worth voting on??
I think we need to be really careful what polls we put forward as well. As we have both said, we are quite constrained around how we can trade this week due to $. I think perhaps the first trade poll should be which WFB/Half do we bring in for Rein.
Then based on that outcome we can poll to ask if we want to make another trade and if so who for based on the prices we can afford.

Yeah, I'm up for this. Except that some of those would not be affordable depending on who the half is. I'd chuck Watson in their, SST, Dale,... theres a few more I guess.
In any case, lets poll on the half and go from there.

I also think it's time to trade out Mahoney.Verbal Kint wrote:My eyeball of this:

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
Mahony and Rein out - Taukeiaho and Watson in
Currently Havili is ahead of Xerri in the loop spot
I am about to leave work and won't be able to make changes, but if RnT or Ranta or someone with access wants to put Xerri ahead of Havili I am OK with that

I'd be playing Havilli over Xerri as well so I'll leave it as is.

Forum voted resoundingly the other way...3:1 last time I checked. So I've set it up as Xerri then Havilli 18 and 19 respectively...

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
@Milchy and any body else. Are we going to make another trade to avoid Xerri's 0? Im on the run a bit but I guess the option would be Dearden to someone. Either a round 16 playing cash out. Or taking the punt on someone else....
Have a fe hours to figure out what if anything to do...

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
I don't think it's worth spending a trade on. In hindsight RTS would have been a good move, but don't want to stuff with future trade plans just for a 40 points this week.
Watson in ended up good in that we don't cop a 0 for Tedesco, and he scored well today, so I thinhk we just take that.
We won't be the only team copping Xerri's 5 this week

Yeah even though I voted for RTS, Watson scored almost as well and will go up a fair bit. Good move imo. Hopefully SST delivers too.

Yup makes sense although I did wonder if there was a trade that we would have likely made next week that we could just make this week instead. Im not really able to look at options right now though.

Re: NRLFF community managed fantasy team
We have $624k to move Dearden on
But a lot of that bank is being saved for future moves getting in RTS, Cook etc
There are no real options for final 17 players available for that price that haven't locked out
If we were to make a move the best bet would be for a cheap R16 cashout, but not sure there are any obvious options available to us (Carrigan maybe?- but this week I wouldn't expect much more than what we have from Xerri)
