I think we should be careful about using the phrase "must have"
So far there are only 3 players I would consider a must have. Cook, Haas and Nikora.
At a stretch you might want to include Ponga since his move back to fullback.
DCE and Bateman might be on that list if they didn't get injured.
For FRF, 2RF and HLF there are a lot of players scoring good points and/or good value that no single player is essential to a good score (other than Haas for how cheap he was to start)
TTRbo in particular, has played less than 2 games this year due to injury.
He has to be able to come back and play a game injury free to be considered for selcetion at all, let alone a must have.
To be a 'must have' he will have to score so much higher than Teddy, Ponga and RTS that you can not cover the loss of points, even by saving cash to spend elsewhere.
There are a lot of halves that are scoring well this year. To be a must have DCE will need to maintain his high average after returning from injury.
We have a lot of scoring history for DCE to suggest he might struggle to stay as high as he is now.
There are so many other options that I think half is the position where we are least locked in to having a certain player and can get a 'POD' for cheaper that won't greatly harm our scoring.
Getting in Pearce at his bottom would have been the best move, but too late now.
McInnes was numbner 1 on my R13 trade-ins until Robson appeared. Is he going to be like Farah now, playing 80 some weeks and getting rests in others?
I'm not sure if we want to give it a few weeks to make the call. Short term his price is ony going to go up thanks to his 90 last week.
Might just have to make a gut call on what he'll do going forward
