I'm hoping Seibold brings back his kicking game, he's been pretty good at it, has some 40/20's in him, but for whatever reason, he shelved it under Bennett's watch.

Could swear macca has mentioned using his kicking game more in preseason every year for three years, hasnt eventuated.

But yeah with a new coach things may be different. Our last tackle plays have plagued us for years now. If macca can help out there with 2 x 40m kicks per game thats an extra 4pts to his average.

There’s a lot of people saying this but they seem to forget who Bennett really is. Bennett is an egomaniac. He’s not going to destroy the best thing Souths have going, the thing is there’s really no way Cook can get any better so it’s just a matter of wanting him as a highly priced lock and load capt or trying to find value for your buck elsewhere.

Cook will be the top scoring hooker but you can argue that with 2 tough opening games, Gurgess suspended for the first 3 games he could start to lose cash straight away. Will the Souths pack dominate enough to get those quick play the balls for Cook to unleash. I reckon Surgess will fill in at prop for Gurgess but who in that pack gets the go forward Cook relies on once Surgess & Turgess are both off the field having a rest. He may not get those monster scores with limited attacking chances.

I assume everyone wants to finish with Cook, they are just planning to bring him in after a few weeks and (hopefully) a couple of price drops

What they need to be worried about is increasing his impact. He had nothing last year.

Agreed. When i was searching for @Archer's new avatar I watched the highlights of that 2015 game. Pretty to watch him effortlessly cut through the middle. Haven't seen it in a long time.

Did any of us hide our round 1 squad in a particular thread last year? I'm sure I logged it somewhere for future reference, but can't find where that was. Trying to remember the mistakes I made, or things I thought to do differently.

Is it possible with Thurston now retired and a world class forward pack he could be more free to take the line on? I know Thurston had the call and I watched him from about 20 metres away tear Granville apart for not passing him the ball at Suncorp one time. Maybe that’s more a hope than a question because he’s been non existent for the past 2 years.

Pretty sure he used to be quickest at the club over 20m. I don't know if he's lost a step but I was surprised to learn just now that he turns 30 next week. Back then also, James Tamou for all his good and bad, would often provide really quick play the balls. I've got NFI about how Green intends to use him this year but yeah without the GOAT and a monster pack you would hope he could find something.

First stab at a team after reading threads on here, good to be back for 2019!

    McCullough
    Tolman, Surgess
    I Papali'i, Murray, Arrow
    Morgan, Cleary
    J Bateman, Capewell
    C Allan, Lomax, Tedesco

    Stimson, DBrown, Bird, Keighran

    Egan, AHopoate, Ravalawa, Haas

$184K ITB but not sure who to upgrade, I can't find any more good value buys, advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers

I found my round 1 team. Some selections that proved really good, but some other selections that were downright woeful..

    Smith (C)
    Lodge Arrow
    Brown Merrin RFM
    Niko Cartright
    Inglis Mitchell
    Ponga Mbye Katoa

    Lichaa Cook Rochow Griffin
    Nicholls Havili Kikau Isaako

Not starting with at least one top tier half really hurt. And spending $$$ at centre wasn't great when guys like Hiku were scoring better.

Hi all, after testing the app today for accessibility on my iPhone I have come to the conclusion that it is basically rooted. I would really appreciate any help that anyone could provide in here. If you can be bothered, please email fan hub and ask them to test the app using Apple's accessibility inspector so blind people can play the game on their phones using voice-over. The same goes for their website and anyone using a screen reader. At the moment I cannot select a player in my team unless I use auto select!!! On the app, I basically can't do anything because no elements are labelled correctly. Just given them a one star rating and a review on the Apple store as well. One star because I was able to login. LOL. #JusticeForBlindside #Accessibility

I believe he was already playing close to 80 on an edge. If JDB is gone then Korbin probably starts, Lawrie sees more game time and Graham picks up some extra minutes as well.

In games he played 40 mins or more last season, he averaged 33.25 in 45 mins (note, i am ignoring a 79 in 73 min game where he scored a try).

I think he gets 40 to 45 mins a game this season, so I don't think he's worth it.
