He's got a good boot (though woefully inaccurate over a short distance) so gets a fair few km. Last time he really didn't have the same ball skills as he has now (not amazing, but vastly improved - the ta's last year show this), strong in defence and running. He's in my team.rhinoceroo wrote:Any Raiders fans with insights on what Wighton will be like at 6? Any scores from past seasons?

This is my take too. Smelly struggled a bit early with the heat and step up in intensity week to week, I'd say bato does the same. Hopefully a good one to bring in before origin in that lean period.Welshy wrote:
We've been here before mate with some english imports, his starting price is high already, would have to score 45 to be worth the early punt.
Capable, easy. New team, enviroment, etc, better to give him a watch. more than likely
Capewell is so much safer due to his starting price vs points potential, same with Holland/Hampton
I'd wait on Bateman personally, I can see him starting in a load of teams and being dumped before he hits his straps later in season and guns it

I don’t think it’s actually been said rather than spoken into existence on here, although I’m definitely one of the people who doesn’t believe this is how they’ll line up. From all reports from the broncos the only thing confirmed on tpj is that he will be playing in the middle and not the edges.

Yep, that's all I've heard, the rest is just speculation.

Yes, and if there’s one thing this forum hates it is baseless speculation.

Re: 2019 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
Don't like the look of that if true
Gillett becomes a 60 min man, increases ppm but decreases in minutes. Now only slightly underpriced
Fifita. If he gets 80min he may be worth buying. Seibold loves an 80 min back rower, but if he only plays 60 min to allow 2 bench back rowers to play some minutes, he only becomes slightly undervalued like Gillett
If Glenn plays 80 then he becomes slightly undervalued too, similar to the above guys
McCoullough is likely to play 80min as Seibold prefers an 80 min Hooker, so he too is undervalued having only averaged 73 min in 2018
Lodge, Off and TPJ unlikely to see any more minutes than last year so I can't see much value there
If these guys play the same minutes then it doesn't leave a great deal more for Haas and the other 2.
Su'a, can't see him play too many minutes, maybe just relieve a backrower for 20 min and a 10 min front rower
Staggs will only get a run for HIA replacements most probably

That lineup also puts Gillett at lock. Surely they wouldn’t put him in one of the busiest spots on the field coming back from neck injury?

Awesome list, cheers fella. Abbey would be a trap in my eyes, thinking Klok and Oldfield are more likely to get spots than him. Would also suggest baptiste, he did well when playing for us but part of that came from Ricky playing both him and hodgo at the same time. Not sure cows will do this, the pack looks too strong to spell any for both baptiste and granny to be on (they also are too similar to make it worth it Imo).mattnz wrote:Here are the <$250k players that there are whispers are likely going to be starting 17 for their respective teams. There are a lot of them and likely still more to come.
Likely to start if they get a spot:
Ravalawa
Nikora
Garrick
Keighran/CHT (maybe both if Green is still injured)
Lomax
Hopoate (apparently can't play until he turns 18 around round 9)
Allan
Brown
Salmon (maybe at Center)
Gray
Abbey (didnt realise he was $228k)
French (man he played crap in many 80 minute games last season)
Burr
Likely to be on the bench if named:
Haas
Baptiste
Sele
Dillon
Blayke Brailey
Vete
Paseka
Ellis
Any that you think could be great value POD sleepers?
Are there any that we think could be traps?

Re: 2019 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
Siebold himselfwas quoted on the Broncos site saying the starting middle would be Lodge Ofa and TPJ. That was a while ago, and of course, things can change. The members day was at Suncorp today, which is probably where that list came from. Still, I think its unlikely to be an actual teamlist as Fifita Gillett and Glenn have all been training as edge forwards.

I hope there is some truth to that billboard. Big fan of Fifita and he'll be straight in my team if starting

Re: 2019 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
Looking at that it could still be true as TPJ would play a middle role with Haas, so technically it would still fit what was mentioned.
Sua an edge man and Staggs being the utility makes sense as well.
Perhaps Siebold wants that sort of impact player off the bench alot of teams use. NAS,Fonua Blake,Murray (2018)
Murray was that man for Siebold for the bunnies also last year and while a different style of player, perhaps he want's TPJ to do that.
Murray averaged around 50 minutes but given he is fresh running against tired bodies then his PPM is high so you get better quality minutes out of him.
TPJ played 50 minutes last year, so if he did play similar minutes he would be priced about right or slightly under (injury discount)
You would be banking on him upping his work rate or hoping for those big point plays against tired player to give you an increase
Will know more coming up I guess with the trials

Fifita is the best young forward we have IMO but won't be relevant this year unless he's starting.

I think Abbey is a bigger trap if he is named to start His current priced is based on having zero fantasy form last year while playing 80 minute games
