Its pretty much a reserve grade team, which would suggest he is not being considered as a first grade starter at this point

my tv broke wrote:Getting back to that list of the biggest money makers over the first 6 rounds of last season, you have to go all the way to 27th on the list, to find a player who came off the bench in all six of those games. Tevita Tatola - he had made 113k at that point, at an average of 25 pts in 29 mins per game (his price peaked in round 9/10 at 384/387k).

Above him in the list, the only players who came off the bench in ANY of the first six rounds were Kikau (TBH, he was just a bloody anomoly), Hess (2 games, 55 and 57 mins), Murray (1 game, 28 mins), and Luke Bateman (2 games, 50 and 29 mins).

Conclusion? Bench players don't make alot of money.. will Haas be different? I think we should expect similar price rises to Tatola, although he may get a few more minutes.

There were 7 players that were sub 300k to start that feature above Tatola, in the early money making ranks at WFB or CTR last year.

Great analysis thanks, Haas is the only guy currently in my team that would be starting off the bench. Need to see TLT and minutes in trials to see if he stays there or not.

Frustrating seeing a rookie team for the Rabbitohs as we're not going to get any valuable info... Makes sense though. NRL is a long season. Kind of wish they moved to a 20 round, conference style comp. Build some passion into the game

They have two more trials after this. Charity Shield will be the best indication but even then, Rory O'Brien comes to mind... hahaha

Most teams won't run many, if any first graders, in the first trial of the season. The Broncos have one this week but it will be all second stringers.

    Player pick: Cameron Munster

    $667k, Priced at 45.5, 2018 average 44.8, 8.45% ownership

Kind of surprised at the high ownership as I expected him to be a POD pick (not going down that rabbit hole) but I've picked him up off gut feel and have now got the stats to at least comfort my nerves lol

In the 9 games he's played in 2017 and 2018 without Billy Slater, he's averaged 59.4 with only 1 game below 50 (22)

He's played 30 games with Billy Slater for an average of 41.09 with 11 of those games under 40 (36.7%)

    2017 without Billy= 57.8
    2018 without Billy= 61.5

Even if he only averages 52, he's $100k underpriced

Edit: Yes, you can make any player look good if you can find the right stat  Laughing

Just one issue, when he was without slater he was playing fullback, not 5/8. That is why his scores increased.

Goalkicking Holland probably a bit better than Capewell.

He has form going back 3 years, its only some low minute interchange games that have him cheap this year.

Capewell is also tempting, but has Aubbs like job security. Might lose his spot (if he even gets it to start with) when Graham returns, but that is far enough into the season not to be a major concern. If it does happen ideally can just switch to Mitchell/Marsters/gun option

Holland during the 10 games he played at center averaged 45, but only had the goal kicking duties in 1 of those games, when he kicked 7 goals. His points potential with kicking duties is north of that.

    Not quite as clear

He played 4 of the 9 games at FB which included his score of 22 for an average of 51.5

The other 5 he played at 5/8 for an average of 65.8

It affects the sample size, but if anything it solidifies him as my risky pick

13.5, priced him at 42 average (+5 on cost)

    Things counting against him:
    Relying on form improvement
    Non Dual
    Not a keeper
    No change in minutes

Surprising and interesting, guessing Tonomopeaia (spelling) was the fullback then?

Munster has been in and out of my team a few times. Boiled down, he causes me an issue in that he leaves $400k for someone in my starting 17 unless I shift some things around (noooo!) - I dont like much in that ~$400k range

I reckon Munster is a great pick, but he's sort of awkwardly priced in between proven guns and some other guys who are a bit cheaper like Edwards, Watson, Drinkwater, etc, who may offer just as much.

Munster could well elevate to top tier this season though.

Late to the party with Holland haha
Was waiting to add him tonight to my player rundown in my thread but have fast tracked him given all his talk so is in there now
Decent option mainly for all his bench minutes dropping his price

40pt scorer which you are paying 30pts for, throw in goal kicking possibly as well.
    Enough said
