Hey guys, nah I’ve always just played this myself, but will
Set up a league shortly for anyone interested and post the code. Game starts tomorrow though so gotta be quick. Prizes are back this year so something to play for, albeit rather small...

I've literally just started looking mate and honestly I cant even start to answer your question in terms of specifics. That said, the last time this game had prizes I won so in terms of strategy I can offer this:
Its basically the same as NRL, so trade hard early, find value in your starting team (and by that I mean bench players should pretty much all be bottom dollar starters), make sure you have one of the main guns in there for your captain, possibly 2 (D-Mac, Mounga, Barrett are the three that spring to mind). AEs I think are position specific, making the captain loophole very easy to do (cause teams are on byes from the start), but also looping players each week, by positions, is possible too. I.e. if you are thinking of trading in someone, and have someone playing a bye, put the bye guy in your starting team, the guy you were considering not actually using for the round on your bench. If the bench guy plays early, you can get a free look at him. If he goes well, dont trade and you get him as an AE, if he's crap, then trade the bye fullah for the guy you want.
In terms of actual players, I haven't even read a preview for a single team, but I do note that team lists are coming in. I dont know any of the players in detail beyond the Kiwi guys, but I can tell you if a kiwi is a rookie and getting a start in a kiwi side, he's probably pretty decent and is worth having in your team.
Hope that helps mate - very rushed cause Im at work

Re: VSDT Super Rugby
2nd rowers that you have been labeled as locks can be good (Hemapo) is an example.
Also, the game is very heavily weighted to attacking stats so the last time I played it (from memory) my team was (by the end) pretty much stacked with Kiwis, players from the Lions, and the odd gun from elsewhere (Folau, Kerevi, SA ball running locks like Etsabeth, Jager).
Also guys like Marx dont score many attacking points but do get a ton of tries from pushovers. He used to be a must have - not sure now though....
In the beginning though I'll be trying to fit in as many kiwi attacking players as I can.

Re: VSDT Super Rugby
Changes already heeded some of your advice, got in Reiko as a back gun! Rene Ranger cheap back up centres and dumped Luamape and taking a punt on Umaga-Jenson

Re: VSDT Super Rugby
I have a team \o/
Just need these final team lists to land so I can tick them off.
I assume the usual (c) loop works with this format? I expect I'll pick up a bye player to have a crack early doors

I like Reiko bro, I think the Blues actually do OK this season and he will benefit. Rene Ranger is old and Im not sure how often he will make the filed. The Sunwolves are notorious for chopping and changing massive numbers of players each week too. I won't be having any of them in my squad to start with. Umaga-Jenson is a decent player, but again, not sure how secure his spot is.
Lots of big name ABs out for the early rounds which makes things even more complicated.

Ha yeah. It seems like 1/3 of the first teams are injured or on leave etc. I fully expect to have 10 red dots next week
