Clack Bocks, go to Super 15.com and they have all the latest news, injury reports and team lists. I have been using this site for years and it pays off.
I finished second last year so you lot will be right in it once you work it out. You must have a gun fly half who is a dead eye kick in a strong team i.e.
Crusaders, Hurricanes, Sharks, Lions or ( cough ) Waratahs. They rack up the points with successful kicks and you usually make them captain.
The loophole is alive and kicking in this format. Pick a V.C. who is playing in a team before your captain plays. When and if your V.C. goes nuts and
scores a ton you change your captain for a reserve who is injured, dropped or has the bye. Place him on the field, give him the big C and you will get the points at the conclusion of the round
as your reserve who did play will get you whatever points they scored. Works every round and if you don't do it you will not finish high in this format.
Try to get players who are playing weak teams i.e. Sunwolves. Not every round but often enough they lose big and opposing teams cash in.
Avoid players who are constantly penalised ( dodgy backrowers infringing on the ruck ), props constantly infuriating the refs at the scrum etc. They get penalised points
and never make any money. I also check the weather because there is nothing so soul destroying as watching a bad game of Rugby in the wet and this has the effect
of lower points scored for your players involved.
Player positions who score high are Hookers, Backrowers, Flyhalfs, Centres and Outside backs. They cost more but its worth it. Props, locks and Scrumhalfs generally
score less and this is where you buy cheap if possible.
I know you guys are gun fantasy players so I'm not trying to make you suck eggs.
I won the Fox Fantasy Rugby several years ago when they had decent prizes ( 5 grand ) but they have stopped it now. All that is left is dreamteam and superbru so
I am glad you guys are taking an interest this season. Good luck all.
