Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 thread part 6
I think I've got too many midrangers in my team and after my slow start to last year I promised myself more guns n cows. Currently thinking I'd rather leave the forward mids as they are (a lot of potential in there this year) and go guns n cows in the halves and/or wfb. What do you guys reckon?
Watson + Edward's or teddy + cnk/lomax/allan/meaney etc
And/or
Munster + morgan or dce/cleary + brown/cut etc

Not sure this helps but:
I'm picking up Edwards and CNK, Lomax in reserves.
I'm tossing up between Munster or Morgan. Probably get both. Brown is in my reserve. I think Pearce actually becomes the gun half this year

Yep I agree on Pearce, could put him and maybe Reynolds aswell in the gun half option.
Just not sure about so many midrangers prefer some more guns. Plus watching teddy not in your team can be torture.

You can not trust the "fantasy total" listed on the nrl.com sie/app.
It does not calculuate correctly. This was a problem last year too (but no one really cared because durng the season you can just check the fantasy site to get an accurate score)
eg
That list exclude Josh Addo-Carr
2 tries (16 pts)
110 run metres (11 pts)
2 line breaks (8 points)
6 tackle breaks (18 points)
3 tackles (3 points)
2 missed tackles (-4 points)
2 kicks defused (2 points)
Listed fantasy score 36 points
Fantasy score if you add up the points above - 54 points
Tries have been excluded from the score at the very least, but some other stats as well.
Real top scorers
Player Fantasy
Andrew Fifita 68
Josh AddoCarr 54
Esan Marsters 54
David Fifita 53
James Roberts 49
Cody Walker 49
Nathan Peats 45
Adam Elliott 44
Dane Gagai 44
James Tamou 44

To be fair he was pretty damn unlucky with his dismissal. Looked like he was finally finding form again too.

Stupid wifi, I'm somewhere near Fiji. Sorry about the double post.
I was originally going to go without Fifita this year but after seeing the big mins Fifita played and without a try he's pretty irresistible. I know the sharks won't give him 80 but maybe the big boy doesn't sweat in the heat this year. Should be a good partnership with TPJ.
Ugh, I don't know anymore. Maybe I'll captain parker and spend big bucks on fensom

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 thread part 6
What's the thoughts on Ponga? I'm thinking he may take some time to settle at 6, and normally is a hit and miss position in Fantasy. He's in my team currently, but I can spread his cash nicely if I downgrade him to say Edwards.
Also, Macca as my hooker looks good value thanks to some injuries, Seibold loves a 80 minute hooker, good option? Or go all out with Cook/Smith or a cash cow.
Radley seems good value if he snakes the 13 jersey.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 thread part 6
What did people see from Fifita in that game that we didn't already know? He is capable of scoring lots of points very quickly, he is capable of paying big minutes and he tries hard once every 6 weeks. Considering the passion in behind that game I'm not surprised he had a blinder. You think he is going to have the same passion round 4 playing the Eels? The only thing you can take out of the early trials are injuries, players dropping down the pecking order(not something you can tell from a all stars game) or players in wildly different roles than you thought (If Wighton was to run out in the centres instead of halves for example)
