With it looking more likely that JDB gets stood down. Does that mean that Kerr is more likely to be a cashie.

Oddly the Storm website says this is a full strength team and that Chambers was included, but he is not listed.. They do mention that Jahrome Hughes will be rested due to a head knock.

Is it possible we are reading too much into the trial teams and coaches could just be giving guys match fitness, testing them out in other positions. Should we all wait until March 12 before deciding to trade someone out due to them not being named where expected on a 22 man squad?

BTW: I'm back on the Croft and Morgan bus.

Taumalolo on an edge is very enticing. Reckon he plays 80? Should mean tries galore

Hess is a proven 80 minute back rower and I doubt they want a representative back rower in Cooper sitting on the pine. I am with MTB in saying Green may be getting up their match fitness. Tolo will be lock come RD 1.

I still think there's zero chance he'll start on the edge in round 1 or any round for that matter. But who knows, i was wrong once.

Toohey suggested Ese'ese at starting lock didn't he? And I don't think he had Barnett starting. Maybe things have changed, or they might still be trialling one or 2 things before round 1.

Nah, Toohey definitrly said Glasby lock a couple weeks ago, and Gavet starting.

Sione was supposed to be in the forwards but injuries have forced him out to centre. Maybe Barnett is training the house down too haha.

would prefer a solid 60 in the middle from lolo than 80 on a edge

Jack Hetherington named at left edge for the Panthers. Katoa 9 again. Looks like a full strength lineup.

It’s crazy, people are and are not being named where people thought they would be and all of a sudden we shouldn’t be reading into these trial lists. Would the feelings be the same if people were where you thought they’d be? These are serious teams named and while there will be some adjustments made I don’t think any of these squads have done anything less than named their strongest available squads.

They’re trials. Every year coaches do things in trials that will never happen when there’s 2 points on the line and every year we read too much into it.

What do you think is better? Try start with a couple Pods >5% ownership or start with a cookie cutter team and get some Pods in later in the season?

I understand that but let’s use Stimson as an example, KBrom is three times his experience and salary. Why wouldn’t you name him over Stimson? Play him 30 on the edge and move him into 13 once Finucane is off. That’s not hard to believe for me.

There are things that are very likely meaningless (lolo named on edge), and other hints that may mean something (stimson at 19).

I think Stimson at 19 may be the reality of where he sits. He ran on the right edge last week, which is Felises postion.. there is no way he is taking that spot.  Tbh we don't havr alot to go on, there is rarely info out of the Storm unless they release it themselves.. Stimson is hardly a player who has his position in the team so locked down that he wouldnt start there in a very near full strength trial team.

Although KBrom is a great player, I dont see him cracking a starting spot in the squad. I put Stimson ahead of him. I didn't see much of the trial last week but I have watched Stimson quite closely when he was playing at the falcons and when he got his chance in the top squad and he seems to be a really hard runner. Often took 3 or more tacklers to bring him down and great with his hand.

Nice Fact: KBrom was actually signed with the Storm first and convinced Bellyache to sign his older brother.

Its no wonder that Lowe decided it was time to move on today, no chance competing with Hess and Lolo for an edge.

If Lolo plays there this season, he will be getting 80 minutes a game most of the time, likely with some time at lock too. I recall him filling in on the edge a couple of years back and carving up. Would need to find a place for him in my team.
