I'm not gonna do it, but I don't mind it. If come TLT you feel the risks are low that Luke comes in at some stage, or a bench player steals minutes then it opens up heaps of possibilities. It's risky though, Hooker is the highest scoring position and a gamble can cost you if it goes bad.

Could just be "training the house down" meaningless rubbish but might eventuate in a start come round 1.

Main problem even if he starts is that Warriors often play their starting lock for low (30-40) minute stints, so he may not get the game time to go well.

Blair was getting 50ish minutes at lock. Then again we can't really know because prior to 2018, Mannering was an 80min Lock (Retired in Peace).

Burr has been talked up as being fit and tipped (about as reliable as Moley) to start at Lock. Going off how they've used Locks other than Manners and Blair, he'll only get 30-40. But he looked great in the trial, running in support, ending up on his front in the tackle etc. Nothing flash

Indeed! Retire In Peace Manners. I hope he made enough to never have to really work again. Although I figure he will be doing NRL reporting related stuff over there, or is he working with the Warriors/NZRL?

Bloke deserves to sit in his own castle somewhere and do whatever the fuck he wants to do for the rest of his life.

I liked Burr's work ethic in the trial, and he's one of the few cheap possible starters. His price tag makes him pretty low risk, he's not going to lose money.
I've got him in my 14-21 atm

Same here, I've see enough of him to give him the benefit of the doubt. He could be one of the 2019 fantasy success stories

If Mahoney is your starting hooker, who is your backup.

Its likely you want 2 or 3 better hookers in your final 17, you need to be confident you can get the cash and spare trades to upgrade to them

He's in my 14-17 as back up hooker and for points and and money making, so free cash up elsewhere.

Looked like a great Fantasy Hooker in that trial. Tackled everything and loves a scoot. Didn't notice any issues with his actual dummy half service, but didn't really focus on it to be honest. Probably should have because that's what real life Coaches kinda look that Embarassed

Hang on, by starting you mean the primary guy or bench guy? My previous comments were on primary guy. Back up guy, hell yeah! (as long as previous considerations are satisfied)

Oh yeah, Macca/Mahoney combo solid imo as long as previous points hold true. I haven't looked at the rest yet but maybe i will.

I did. Watched it twice, once drunk and once sober. Service was great. Scoots were unexpected and awesome. Defence sound.

No perviously I was talking about making him the main hooker for the team. This could maybe allow me to bring more value into the side. Just thought I would share my current team.
    Cheers for the response though!

Requires a kind TLT (specifically at the moment I would not be 100% confident on Egan, Stimson, Hetherington, Hopoate and Burr) and all (or at least most) of your cheapies firing, but certainly potential there to do well.

The other big risk is that you end up without 2 halves that are scoring well - you'll basically have to ditch a gun to upgrade. Fifita and Taupau will probably have to stay there (unless Hetherington guns it you have no FRF cover) so who would you lose?
