would need to be playing 80 to get close to 40 average consistently and Tigers don’t regularly play 2 80 minutes edge rowers do they?mattnz wrote:
Likely to be similar stats to Stimson do you think, but $60k less cost?

POD discussion: Junior Paulo
Priced at 32, bench role when on the outer with Ricky but averaged 40 in ten games playing 40+ minutes. Will play 40+ minutes at Eels. Looking like he's off the Kentucky. offloading, training house down etc. Value props in 400k-500k bracket thin on ground (Fotuaika maybe?)
Counterpoint: Alvaro & Brown do a lot of work in that pack

New coach. All speculation I reckon.
Edit: Then again, speculation is all we do right?

So many coaches we haven’t done anything consistently except lose since the Sheenius was there and discounting 2005 even then the only consistent was a winger on the bench.Welshy wrote:

I looked and couldn’t find him enough minutes to be worthwhile.rhinoceroo wrote:POD discussion: Junior Paulo

Counterpoint: With FR being as thin as it is a 40pt average from him would help most people’s team balance a lot. I also don’t think having other workers in a pack is a bad thing from a fantasy perspective, forwards take minutes off each other not necessarily points.

Stimson PPM 0.55
Garner PPM 0.75
Garner only needs 60 minutes to match an 80 minute Stimson, anything over that is a bonus and $60k cheaper.

How many minutes were each of them playing when averaging those PPM’s? I’ll skip Garner either way because I’m not convinced he keeps his spot and he has a weak nogginmattnz wrote:

Napa allowed to play now so doesn’t that open back up the cheap FR with good minutes as decent shout in most teams

Garner has hardly any first team experience, .75PPM difficult to maintain as an edge rower. Without 80 I wouldn’t trust him to get anywhere near 40 pointsmattnz wrote:

They have the same average of 28, so Garner was getting the same scores in less minutes.

Is Capewell, Holland (starters), Bird (bench currently) and Nikora (emergency currently) absolute overkill for the centres which one would you drop
Looking at Capewell out but 6k short of L Leilua (could also drop Bird to 212, promote Nikora to starter and move Capewell to someone like Radley/L Leilua)

Is vaughn now a solid pick considering the workload JDB left behind? surely his minutes/workload must increase

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 thread part 8
But the premise and appeal of Stimson this year is getting 80 full time and getting the 40+ scores with playing that role which he has proved when playing it. No one is putting Stimson in if they don’t think he is playing 80.mattnz wrote:

I am in need of some FRF coverage. Priced at 24, surely he can make some cash? Klemmer averaged 56.5 minutes, it went up slightly to 58 when Woods left. I don't expect Napa to play anymore than 50 minutes. Just need him to score 35+. That's a 0.7 ppm which is higher than he's put out of late. I wouldn't be surprised if he gunned it and wouldn't be surprised if he dudded it.

I think yes. How much it benefits him is hard to say. If he doesn't get all those linebreaks and tries he got the year before last then maybe only a little. But I think he'll get some of those too. Like reverting the mean so to speak.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 thread part 8
I’m not a fan of PPM I just want consistent minutes, I highly doubt Napa leaves the Roosters for a lesser role. If he gets 45-50 minutes I would expect 30-35 from him. Nothing too complex in that thinkingMulvy wrote:

I agree, I don't use it either really. Just pointing out his workload would have to increase as well as his minutes. But given he's gone from a strong pack to a weaker one I think workload would have to increase too. So I want 35+ and that's not unreasonable. But it's not without risk.

The 212k Manly CTR whose name escapes me is highly likely to score more than Bird in any case. Get him out of your team.
