I’m all for a poll to see which of the 2 above thought processes is the most ridiculous.KalkadoonWarrior wrote:White Lightning wrote:I'm liking these player sanctions being handed down by the nrl to JDB & Walker. It sends a message & I think all players will think twice about playing up. Before these sanctions I reckon players thought what can happen to me, even if I go to court I'll still be able to play because I'm presumed innocent. Now they know they will be gone if they play up. Plus if you hit them with a big fine as well the players won't like that at all.
What a ridiculous thought process, you realise that a false rape or even just a simple false misconduct against a female could derail a premiership? What’s stopping a brown paper bag and a story now from taking someone out of a finals? This is Australia and the presumption of innocence is our entitlement, people lie.... especially for money.... this has just created another weapon for the corrupt.

They would need to find and validate some evidence before it even reaching court. If i have watched enough suits and can call myself a lawyer, you need some form of evidence before even going to trial. Before this is just negotiations, etc. on settlements (obviously dependent on the severity of that being accused).
JDB Case - they had probable cause with images and footage surfacing of JDB, the girl and the random dude together.
Bolton Case - Footage from the bar being released
Dylan Walker - Wife came forward saying she was beaten, had bruises etc.
Napa - Obvious footage of what happened
You cant start a case without any evidence, it wouldnt make court/trial.
Edited again - The policy is also only for any cases where the accused will be stood down if they stand to spend at least 11 years or more in jail.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Thread Part 9
I think the idea someone will make false accusations of a serious crime AND the police will follow it up and lay charges, "all to derail a teams premiership" is a bit silly. Likewise though, I'd like to think the idea of serious jail time and not the suspension from footy, would be the discouraging factor.

Might end up with Ravalawa, Lomax, Frizzy, Leilua and Vaughn in my team

@rapture_nrl and anyone else. If there's any interest in setting up a PS4 RL4 team full of our fantasy players and playing online let me know!
Anyone else finding they've got a team full of value players but no captaincy options? Got Arrow Macca and Matterson but that's about it! Who would you pick if you had to choose one as captain?

I see what you're saying & I agree as it wouldn't be right in that situation. Of course you would need proof before banning someone after a thorough investigation.
