Just rearranged the team. Added Morgan and Hampton based on the Lolo factor. Gives me cover in both positions. Had to ditch Edwards at WFB and Difita to do it.

Edwards seems to be the guy that is in and out of my team like a yoyo. Happy to have him there if wanting to spend cap, but happy to drop him too when I need it back.

10 days away from TLT any thoughts on the biggest likely surprises to come up?

    • Way less cheapies than most are expecting with coaches defaulting to veteran talent
    • Will Smith named in 18 gives Mahoney owners a scare.
    • Atleast 1 positional reshuffle that no one saw coming. Think something like Moylan 6 Johnson 1
    • Extended benches giving second thoughts over previous locked in players like Capewell

I love the TLT wobbles. Every side will have someone named on extended bench to make you question what youre doing. And i'd bet around half of teams will have slight changes to the 1-17 named on tuesday, come gameday.

Yeah I don’t remember him in the second row either. How good would it be if he were made DPP

Yes MS I'm into the 2nd stage of fantasy meltdown:
stage 1 - go into the season with a core group of players I think are must haves. I fit them all into my team & I'm stoked.
stage 2 - start to doubt everyone in my team & conclude my team is shit/why did I pick them & I'll start the season regretting all my 50/50 calls.

At least with R1 there is the periodic lockout so you can transfer players on your bench for those who haven't played yet

Although I still remember transferring Kikau when he was named on interchange in R1 on late team list before he got like 60 points and then had to rush him in

Happens every year. I love the TLT panic where we some how all miss a decent options (Phillip Sami last year)

When starting Lock and playing over 50 mins (13 times), he averages 49.3 at 59 minutes/game only scoring 2 tries. When playing over 60 mins (11 times), very similar at a 49.5 average. He has the locking role for now but he is very interesting, could go to a new level if he makes that spot his own and possibly push into the 50's.

Twal on the other hand BE 38. When playing off the bench and over 35 minutes (16 times) he averages 43.68 in 40.88 minutes per game with 0 tries!!! most impressively is when he got 79 in 39 minutes (7Tb's and 204 metres). Not sure which games he came on at prop and which were lock but man that is impressive!!

Didnt even realise ET was lock this weekend! Waste of talent with Huth and Twal on the pine, ET is a little past it isnt he?

Elijah Taylor at lock (under Cleary last year at least) wasn't a great fantasy proposition. Good tackle count but not much else to speak of. I think he provides use to the team though (except at hooker) so expect him to be around the place during the season

Incidentally the Twal 200m game, he made about 60 of those metres in one run, got a line break in his own half and made it almost to the try line before passing off to Mbye for the try

Its about the only big attacking play he's had in his time with us, so wouldn't rely on the, he is more of a base stats kind of guy.

Expecting it to be like most seasons that lots of random cashies appear round 1. They also tend to be high risk options though as they are often dropped again by round 4 - think Bunnies backs and Warriors forwards.

Would love Will Smith named in 14. Help keep Mahoney ownership low as long as possible, so most miss him.

I think I would take Mahoney anyway. Smith wouldn't pinch too many minutes. Mahoney just needs to play big minutes, not necessarily 80.

Raiders will never win a comp while Jarrod Croker is captain.

I should probably just note that there's the perfect opportunity for a sheep joke there.

Yes my thoughts exactly. Just enough to scare people off him, go for a Cook, Smith or Macca instead.

Might end up with Ravalawa, Lomax, Frizzy, Leilua and Vaughn in my team

JDB did not do well at lock last season. Was brought off during the first half and his MPG ended up being in the 50s by seasons end. Not sure if this is what McGregor will do with Frizell though. Frizell's minutes could drop if he has more work to do defensively.

Article re Broncos Pack. What i take from it -

Gillett is playing lock this weekend to get some contact into him and his hands on the ball more. Will spend some time at 2RF towards the end of the game. S'ua likely to be spending more time in the middle off the bench. Loves Fifita. Praised him for his work last year and in the all-star game. Said he doesn't care about his age just wants him playing footy and made a good point that last year he spent his pre-season with souths-logan so this is his first pre season with the full squad. Looks to be between Gillett, Fifita, TPJ and Glenn for 11,12,13 jerseys.

And you missed the potentially more important quote by Seibold in that article.
"Kotoni Staggs is putting a lot of pressure on Jack Bird and Jimmy Roberts. They will get first crack and Kotoni will come off the bench and spend a bit of time in the centres."
If this happens does Bird stay on the field and move into the forwards?
