i like this team but feel it may be too forward heavy with weaker backs than id like. would like a sironen or stimson to increase cash flow and bolster wfb to maybe a hughes but cant decid how. Any thoughts on matterson and lane?

Thinking about something like McCullough + Edwards + Mahoney on the bench VS Cleary or SJ (I think I favour Cleary to keep a Panthers player) + Hughes + Mahoney as starting hooker (no HOK coverage)

Obviously depends on TLT, as I think I'm going to need to remove Stimson which will be my first priority over this

The whole point of this is to move Keighran/Brown out of starting squad and minimise risk of having HLFs flop

I reckon if McCullough can stay healthy he can increase his value easily, played alot injured last year and scored very well when playing 80 and healthy

I think you will be lucky to get a 30 average from Napa

With Fifi and Napa it allows me to have Fifi as a (c) option and also run anyone 738K or under on the bench.

Cowboys News - Morgan appointed Captain and McLean appointed as VC.
Im sticking with my big call that either/both of McLean and/or Lodge will average 50+ this year.

Haven't really heard much talk about Ofa. Doesn't he only score well at lock?

McLean as VC is interesting. Could he be an alternative to Tolman around that price?

Playing 40-60 minutes Ofa averages 43. and he is priced at 42. Ah Mau could do anything, hard to predict a range for him. All I'd be comfortable saying is over 40. How much over 40 is a question I couldn't say with confidence

Napa was just terrible last year. He scored poorly despite getting decent minutes almost every week. Even if you only include games he played over 30 minutes in, he averaged only 26.
Over 40 minutes and he is still a sub 30 average.
It is not enough to just hope that Napa gets playing time at the dogs, you have to hope he reverts back to 2016 scoring levels too.

I still want Fifita due to captaincy options, and to save trades. Unlike the other 3, he is definitely a final team player.

On this Fifi/Napa talk. I recall last year I started with Fifi/Lodge I think, could have even been TPJ/Lodge and all i expected from lodge was 35 and i would've been very happy and this is what he did and i was happy. Made some nice coin for me early on. I feel like my expectations are too high in this department this year. A 35 from Napa would be awesome and he has the pedigree to go even higher. I know there is so much value elsewhere to allow for a stronger FRF pack to start but i feel expectations are too high for Round 1.

My write up on McLean yesterday.

McLean 564K - Injured very early in the year, came back in the last 6 weeks of footy and averaged 47.3 in 48min/game. Looks as though his minutes increased over this 6 week period also. I think McLean will continue to get 45-50 minutes a game this year despite the pack, Scott getting on and can't produce for as long, other bench props coming through the ranks wont see much game time. BE of 39 there's not much value there but definitely an option for a sub 600K FRF.

If I get Fifita/Taupau I'll have to start off without Arrow and run a Murray/Lane/Whitehead setup to offset the pricing

What do people think Brandon Smiths minutes will look like this year? I could see him playing a similar role to Radley as a mobile 13 and pick up the dummy half duties when Cam Smith is being rested?

Potentially a future Gun, but not sure he’s worth considering this year.
