I am excited for Thursday night but just realised it will be a let down with only one playing from my team.

I read he is young but he is big & apparently is a beast. They think he is 1 player who can bend the line & they lack forwards who can do that. To me both Matulino & Packer didn't really play well in 2018. Maybe they'll improve this year but if they don't young Mikaele is waiting for a chance to start.

The Cherry Tomatoes it was great because that's how I found out Brenton Lawrence was getting a decent gig since he had him in his team and I vaguely remember being able to see his team before round 1

T'was the night before TLT and I couldn't wait any longer
Tomorrow was the final day that we would make our teams stronger
With new cheapies popping up prospects would be made
Tomorrow we would spam refresh until the final teams were laid
Tomorrow was the day we had all been waiting for
Tomorrow was the day the forum would roar
With cheapies emerging and people would be left out
And up until Thursday we will all be filled up with doubt
T'was the night before TLT we were waiting with ambition
All for the moment the teams put in there team list submission

Sharks - xerri misses out. Capewell and nikora edges.
Panthers - katoa 9. Egan bench.
Eels - niukore takes maus spot.
Manly - parker and taufua left edge, suli and garrick right
just on the manly backline, is Elliott confirmed as FB? who is likely to make way when TTurbo comes back? Elliott to wing and Garrick out? Just reading Suli has been moved across to cover Walker's absence - presumably that means Parker might be ahead of Garrick too?

I must say I am really pleased that tonnes of cheap WFBs and CTRs didnt arrive in round 1 this season. Allows for different strategies to be used.

I like the different variety of players you have. Definitely a lot different from most of the cookie cutter teams.
My biggest concerns are Katoa how many mins will he get and will there be a second hooker on the bench
Kikau is injured and wont be back for several rounds so he'll need replacing
Staggs will get dick all time so maybe try to pick up a rookie like Rava or Nikora
Moses Leota I don't know what he'll be like for mins but I think he had a decent crack last year and is cheap for a reason
I cant see FLeger getting much time on the field to be able to have a decent score for your reserves.
I like that youre trying to pick different players it could either go really well or really bad for you but if it makes you happy and its fun for you go for it!

To me both Matulino & Packer didn't really play well in 2018. Maybe they'll improve this year but if they don't young Mikaele is waiting for a chance to start.
Standing at 194cm tall despite being just 20 years of age, Thomas Mikaele certainly has all the potential in the world and a bright future on the horizon at Wests Tigers.
Similarly to Connelly Lemuelu, the giant prop joined Wests Tigers Holden Cup side in 2017 after previously captaining Keebra Park High School to the 2016 GIO Schoolboys Cup Final.
Although a great experience, Mikaele admitted that his first year at Wests Tigers had its challenges — including a bump in intensity and bouncing back from several niggling injuries.
“My first year of under 20’s was pretty tough really," Mikaele admitted.
"Just moving in to that role of playing week to week wasn't always easy.
"Coming from 6-7 school games in a year to 26 games in a season is pretty tough.
“In the first half of the year I had a lot of injuries, but in the second half was good for me. I managed to be on the paddock for the majority of it, found my feet and just tried to enjoy it”.
Despite those injuries, Mikaele's superb finish to the year certainly caught the eye of Wests Tigers coaching staff — selected as one of the four players in Wests Tigers 2018 development squad.
It's not just club staff either that he's impressing, with a growing junior representative career that has seen him feature twice for the Queensland U/18's side as well as earn two selections to the U/20's Emerging Maroons squad — the most recent of which happened last fortnight under the watchful eye of Justin Hodges (Coach) and Wests Tigers Premiership Winner Scott Prince (Assistant Coach).
With that history of representative footy already under his belt, the mature 20-year-old says the goal this year is simply to learn from the more experienced players at the club — taking important lessons from first-grade back to the Jersey Flegg side and becoming more of a leader amongst his teammates.
"It's been an amazing experience [training full-time]," he said.
"Just being around boys that I'm used to watching on TV while growing up is amazing. The knowledge and the skill they have is really helping, and learning off them and the coaching staff is unbelievable.
“I think I’ll be able to take a lot of things back to the U/20's, and not just the skill and performance.
"I think the off-field things will be massive for me this year; these boys carry themselves in a great manner and they're very respectful off the field, so I'll take that back with me to the younger boys.
"It'd be good for me to be able to show that to the guys coming through like they have with me."

Is Peats a decent pick up if Brimson is on the bench instead of Rein?
Will Roberts play a bit at hooker with Peats off?

All good bro & welcome. To be honest I only liked about 4-5 of your picks. for e.g. Kikau is injured & I wouldn't rely on Katoa as my main hooker. Just go through the threads & you'll see the popular player picks. Good luck.Individual wrote:what do you think of my squad:
