This is my team at this stage.

    McCullough
    Fifita, Vaughan
    Arrow, Murray, Nikora
    Munster, Morgan
    Holland, Capewell
    Teddy, Dedwards, BMoz

    Garner, CNK, Brown, Keighran

    Ravalawa, B Brailey, Bird, Sivo.

I'm feeling my FRF stocks bench wise are pretty lacking are they not? Pretty happy with the team overall though - seems pretty similar to everyone else.

I had to get rid of BMoz for ( gulp ) Kahu to afford Teddy. Kahu usually starts well until the inevitable injury or loss of form so hears to 3 good rounds out of him until he hits the wall.

My concern with Garner (i had him previously for quite a while) is MCK and Aloiai on the bench. My understanding from a mate who's a tigers fan is Garner's PPM last year involved a fair bit of time spent in the middle so i'm concerned about his real money making potential. Also, if tigers get off to a stinker, he could easily be the first one to go.

Cook i feel will come down in value hence MCC, Dedwards averaged 47 or 48 at FB so is severely undervalued. I do want Taupau, esp for the DPP but again feel he might be a bit overs.

    Cheers for the welcomes lads!

Yeah, definitely some depth tapping Garner on the shoulder. We do tend to start seasons well for the first 3 or 4 weeks though; has been the trend over the last few years. I swore off Garner till a couple of days ago when I realised what I could do with the spare cash when I started him. Good luck for the season.

Seems like a fucking mammoth task and likely outlier

Like you said in a previous post, their bench is shit. Add to that the shit bench players won't see a lot of minutes because they're... shit.

I don't see why he can't go mental again this season. They need him on the field as much as possible.

Think my team is now set. It does look like a majority of the teams here, but I'm happy with that.I would be more concerned if it didn't. There was a discussions between some of the heavy hitters on here earlier about choosing a cookie-cutter team / playing it safe / reducing pods. I play it this way too. It worked for me well last year. Trying to put the best picks in my team regardless how obvious and high percentage they were. I have faith in this community and if we have similar teams, hopefully we all start off really well.

It then comes down to picking the right cows, choosing the right Captains, making trades at the right time to maximise money generation and luck. Teams will start looking different and points will start separating us soon enough.

    Good luck to all!

Worried about Garrick's JS. Who drops out for Turbo? Personally I think Elliott is complete garbage and should drop out but I know nothing about Garrick. Parker is also rubbish imo so any of those 3 could drop out by as early as round 2.

Aide from being named after Dragonball Z can someone tell me about Kamikamica. DPP basement priced, is he going to feature heavily for the Storm? Or in for someone temporarily?

I think he's solidly in the 17 in JBrom/Welsh/NAS/Kami front row rotation. Worst case is he slow burns 100k, best case hope is he gets Glasby's minutes/role but with added TB possibility because he's a unit. Has a niggling injury so couls be a late withdrawl, but Melbourne up first.

Thinking of starting Burr ahead of D.Brown this week.

Expect Burr will get good minutes at lock. They are playing the non-expansive Dogs who should just hit up 5/6 tackles and Burr can stand there and make tackle after tackle.

More risk in Brown as I feel they should lose to the Panthers away, so won't get many attacking stats and even though the kid has wraps on him and had a good pre-season, it is his first game and will have some big boppers testing him. Moses should also pick up a lot of the play-making early doors to not have him chance his arm while he grows in confidence.

Also 8.6% v 43.8% ownership, so if it comes off, it would be helpful.

Does my thinking seem sensical? Any thoughts appreciated

Not sure if I'll have Burr. His price rises coild stop after round 1/2 (or he could possibly be the 2018 Mannering on the bench tackling everything for 40 minutes). But if I did have him I'd definitely back him to score more than Brown this weekend.

Damn this site has picked up some crazy momentum!

TLT has given me more questions than answers :/

    1) Does Ofa and Gillett get big minutes now with that bench?
    2) Is Burns a long term option?
    3) Friend/Macca looking similar value and big minutes,
    one or both?
    4) Mahoney needs 80 odd mins to score well.. Is he a bust with Smith on the bench?
    5) Gillett, Lane, Radley, Murray... Which 2?

Some positions there is a gulf between say 1st,2nd and then........3rd . Look at WFB, or FRF.
I think for that reason why people are locking in some players in these positions and going value options in others

McCullough,Friend,Mcinnes,Farah,Smith are good examples next to Cook
    Fifita,Taupau.............James (now edge player).....Alvaro.... Sub 50's players

No origin either, injured forward packs and both fit and healthy so can't blame people for just spending up here
Means less money to spend elsewhere so the flow on effect and decent value players in these positions means no JTbo. Mitchell, DCE

Yeah definitely agree with the thinking here but personally I'm struggling trying to get all the value buys in my team and Fifita is making that difficult. Which I had 22 spots too..

Wow, so there are some differences to the teams still. I reckon happy with what I have here. The two I would think potentially about bringing in are Gillett, Will Hopoate or Tevaga

    Mahoney
    Fifita Taupau
    Murray Lane Matterson
    Morgan Brown
    Holland Nikora
    Watson, Nicolll-Klokstad, Morris

    Tolman Twal Radley Garner

I've got Friend and Macca too but at the cost of Gillett and Fifita/Taupau

What's your argument for Vaughan v Ofa (bench good for him)

Do you know what Burns long term prospects are?

I'm going to say it, but I don't like Hughes until he proves himself. I'm running Burns there and cheapie centre

Meh, I'm not running FRF cover either. That's what trades are for Laughing

Isnt Burr looking highly likely to lose out in a round or two ? Hate to start with him and be thinking of trading so early.

    Hey mate

Just a fan of Vaughan, always have been. Hopefully gets through a lot of work and the odd try.

Unsure about Burns actually. Will probably just run Nikora and pray from week to week.

Yeah Hughes is a tough one. Will probably tinker there until lock out haha

If Burr can have a strong outing this week then that should kick start him enough to get a few rises while still coming off the bench.
