Sele Sivo Ravalawa Xerri/Garrick (not sure I want a dud Manly winger).

Only cover I don't have is at hooker, but I'm so undecided I'm happy to wait until it's more clear. No hooker that I want plays round 12 either except Mahoney.
Watson can cover halves for the meantime if one of the wingers look better than them.

    Not happy to miss Niukore/Radley/Ofa/Twal.

Benji did say on NRL 360 Madge wasn't happy with the forwards fitness yet so needed a four forward bench against a big manly pack, but it could change next week. Also wants an experienced prop on bench so splitting Matulino and Packer up. So Twal gets the start.

That sounds good for Twal keeping starting spot

All this Watson conviction. At his price and a BE of 40 surely you would be expecting 45-50 for any value? Whereas Edwards who has a BE of 38 and averaged 45 (minus his injury game) in the first 7 rounds of last year and 48 in 2017 when playing fullback, another year older and more room for improvement. He is better value? Am i wrong?

EDIT: He only scored 2 tries in 2017.

The 21 man squad is the enabler. I wouldn't with the old school game. Chances are I'm bound to get an injury from one of my other 10 players above base price before Mahoney becomes non relevant or injured. By that stage I will know what hooker to jump on at a good price. In fact I would rather target Tapine/Nathan Brown as they play round 12 before getting a hooker I may not want come seasons end. If a longer injury I will go from Mahoney to Radley and still be getting value.

Matulino and Packer aren't historically big minutes forwards, the only thing that worries me is huth in the reserves. He was massive for them last year and a great back up in the middle? Didnt someone say MAdge was going to confirm his bench spots today?

I've looked at all of them. Think Teddy is just an easy set and forget.

Hoping both will go 45+ mate, and be top 5 fullbacks with Teddy, Turbo and RTS. DEdwards plays round 12, RTS has great draw and more responsibility, and Watson is TB beast.

This is true but I think what is on most peoples mind is who will be the next Teddy/RTS... will it be Watson? Edwards? Hughes?

Yep, Fantasy suicide under the old system, not so much now in regards injuries/suspension. It’s moreso if he tanks. I watched his trial and he looked great. But also thought Satae was the best prop in the trials I watched and he isn’t in the Warriors 21.

@ Kelvraps - I joined your league bro & btw solid team. I'm sure you realise the risk of running Roache, Host, Burr & Lawrie as potentially all may be out of the 17 by rounds 2-4.

Yep, exactly. Finding the bloke who is top 2 or 3 whilst leaving cash for more gun forwards or consolidating the bench.

I've got him and I'm sticking. Dual. Is moving to a position where it is favourable for his game. Extra TB's and run metres will outweigh tackles by 5-10 points over the season, great support player, fit, strong, fast and a decent pack.
Will be the surprise fullback this year and could even rival Teddy.
In the Teddy mould but much cheaper.

I think he’s too small for a modern day FB to be making the impact of say a Tedesco or Turbo. They’re sizeable blokes, like Inglis.I also think that his size will make him an injury risk. His stats at the Roosters when FB were average from memory. Just my opinion. Pass.

    Morning All,

Been hanging around for a while but this is my first post (other than registering for a league).

First of all thanks to all the regular contributors for the tips, stats, analysis and debate. It has made picking a team both much easier and infinitely harder.

Have a couple of last minute quandaries I would appreciate some opinions on. They are pretty much generated by the old fear vs value debate. Nervous about not starting with Smith for the first time in five years so
    a) Smith & Napa or
    b) McCullough & Niukore

also keep swapping Cleary and Tedesco in and out

    Cheers,

Aardvark (the interloper not the original)

I thought he had 4 games at fullback for an average of 49? Short yes, small no. Could be around the size of Teddy just shorter. Looks bigger than a lot of other fullbacks playing nrl e.g Kahu, CNK, Hughes, Gordon, Boyd, Moylan.
Size doesn't come into it, he's a strong guy that can break tackles.
