Hi lads, had a great start for a change, only for the halves roullette, 1 week right 1 week wrong, I'm currently 332 overall and would have been 35 points better off but that's the gamble with the current set up of my team.
A question for me is, should I still be thinking of bringing bird in, should have got him last week but went with Host. The obvious players on the chopping block are Edwards, Capewell, Gillett, and Host but all have reasonable reasons to stay and save a trade.
Gillett/ Capewell to Bird would be pretty straight forward. Is it a worthwhile trade or should I save, Bird down the left looks a great combination and there looks like good money to be made.
    Any other thoughts maybe?

    Cheers for your expertise lads

I'd give all those guys another week. Edwards would be replaced by Sivo so not worth it, Capewell and Gillett should be given more chances but aren't necessarily keepers. Host is in the same boat to a certain extent but I'd rather Bird.

Host to Bird. The rest weakens your immediate scoring too much IMO. Should still have enough cash for Edwards to Tedesco next week too

I'm going to take a punt on Okunbor being a slow progress cow.

Edwards/Holland out for Bateman/Okunbor and I'll have 97k left over.

Brown promoted into the starting line up. Effectively means Bateman/Brown for Edwards/Holland as far as scoring goes. Bateman I can just sit in the centres all year, set and forget and never worry about that shithole of a position again.

The thought of saving some money is certainly at the front of my mind. Upgrading to tedesco is a must, just need to ensure the correct money is required. Cheers

Same dilemma. I've gone with Keighran because I think he has the most upside of the lot.

Thoughts on Niukore parra as a pod , lolo to Niukore Levi to Farah , only got 452k to spend on front row or second row to get in Farah. Finnacane Bromwich

Thats a good move but while Farah is on a hot streak I'm sure you are likely paying overs for his purple patch now. In a similar bracket I'd back Smith for ROS.

Stimson when back from injury probably best fits the under 430k 2RF. Garner/Lawrie wouldn't bee too bad either unless you already have them. Like the Burns pickup now though and Nikora in your 2RF is fine. Heaps here probably play him or Capewell on the bench anyways. No real difference.

    Bump

If Friend suits up this week, is Holland > Napa a good trade?
I'll sort HOK cover out next week hopefully.

Or just continue on the path of HOK coverage?

I don't think I could trust playing Napa in my 17 anymore than Holland. Sideways at best. Friend will play this week but I'd be upgrading him in a few weeks, having Cameron King and Craig Garvey as backups is probably the best depth you can get at a club, not to mention Radley has the ability to fill in.

Yeah friend is looking like he could be fattened up for a few weeks off the back of his 92 and used as my crichton and tedesco fund. Assuming there is a game/s in the meantime where he loses his 80 role. If he keeps it then he's a keeper

Aside from his second stint (and the very end of his first one) vs the Warriors, without any stats to look at, I reckon Napa has been scoring at ~1ppm. He was on 20 v the Warriors before the end of his first stint from memory, and then even discounting the Try last week he must have been close to a point per minute in that whole game too right?

Have many people jumped on the waddell train or treating him as a wait and see until we see the rotaton with AFB back?

I could drop host to him but at this stage I've still managed to hold my trades for once Sleep

I think long term Capewell is more likely to maintain a 40 average than Bird (depending on how quickly Graham comes back I guess)

I think Reynolds will establish himself as the gun half to have this week and will be a popular trade in after another round of halves roulette

I had always assumed Capewell would hold his spot and Nikora would lose out when Graham returns. Is that not the case?

Yeah it may end up being that I’ve bottled it, but I’ve reversed Capewell to Bird move.

Well done to one and all who have earned all that cash, with much more to come but it just feels worse than sideways and I’d sooner piss off a Kahu or Host to raise the funds for the actual priority man - Burns

I think Capewell became expendable as soon as Nikora emerged as a 80 min 2RF and likely a better medium term fantasy scorer. At the beginning of the season Capewell was gold as probably a 40 point C option, but with Bateman, Bird, & Nikora, (am I missing anyone?), many dont really need Capewell any longer.

For those without Bird I think Capewell to Bird makes sense, particularly if you have Bateman and Nikora, as it frees up a bit of cash and generates more $ faster than without the trade, while still leaving you with 2 quality 80 min forwards to use in your C position, and Bird in the 17 if you want.

I'd be targeting Burns over Bird too mate - Burns plugs one of those WFB spots and my gut tells me he will be a better fantasy scorer than Bird. He also strikes me as someone that could easily put a few 50+ scores together and make for a seamless upgrade to a gun later on...

Can you no get him this week mate? He could go huge on Sunday I reckon!
