Rein Debate Part 2 Empty Rein Debate Part 2

Post by Cap'n Ranta Sat Mar 30, 2019 12:43 am

Tedesco and Bateman have played strongly and a lot of noise has been made about getting them in our team. The golden goose Rein is also back as a potential 80 min HOK option with news of Peats being out for 6+ weeks. We still have a trade left after this week so have looked at somehow getting all 3 in with our 3 trades.

Unfortunately cash is a problem. Options to vote for are below.

    Trade Burr and miss one

Ideally Burr is stalling as a cow (due to reduced minutes) and we would trade him to Rein. A 30 for Burr and a 50 for Rein would make little cash difference overall

    Burr - 292k now. With 30 points he becomes 326k (+24k)
    Rein - 477k now. With a 40/50 he becomes 486/498k (+9/21k)

We have 251k now and would be left with 66k post trade. Problem is even if we trade Macca (716k) and Lane (630k) we fall short of getting Tedesco (722k) and Bateman (714k)

    Macca + Lane + Bank = 716 + 630 + 66 = 1,412k
    Tedesco + Bateman = 722+714 = 1,436k

So if we want Burr out now we can only have one of Tedesco/Bateman next week. In this case waiting for more info is probably a better option unless we really want Reins score this week. Note we'd get Reins score over Garner or Capewell as our only options so maybe a 10-15 point edge at most.

    Get all 3

To make up the cash difference and get all 3 due to rolling lockouts we can only trade one of the following and then next week we will have the cash for Tedesco and Bateman.

    Capewell (451k)
    Garner (430k)
    Murray (642k)

The others aren't options as Arrow and Nikora are a potential keeper and our best cash cow. Fifita, Taupau, Edwards, Burns, Morgan and Keighran we cant trade to Rein as we don't have cover for them on our bench to move to the starting team. Note if we do go this option we commit to keeping all our cows (including Burr for the next 2 weeks).

    Wait a week

If we hold fire this week we can get any two of Bateman, Rein, Tedesco next week. Likely for Burr and Macca.

To hell with all of this

Hey its not even the end of rd 3 and maybe there are better options. Lets leave all this talk for next week.

    How to Vote:

Pick the option you prefer. Options are split by the ------------.
Once you have picked an option there is some sub options. I.e. Get All 3 has the sub-choice of dropping Garner, Capewell or Murray. Pick the sub option you like the best as well.

7 people voted to trade this week, but only 5 of them specified a tradeout option.

    Looks like Capewell anyway.

Ditching Capewell almost locks us in to Bateman next week though, unless you are happy running Bird/Nikora as CTR with only Ravalava as backup. (or depending on who we bring Teddy in for maybe Burns could move)

Things could also get interesting if Morgan stutters again today. We coul dend up having 4-5 trades we want to make next week, with or without this week's Rein train.

I think the Capewell option is decent. Teddy is a must next week IMO. And while I could handle not getting Bateman (mostly because after three games we still dont really know if we are getting value with him - as opposed to Teddy) if we can get him next week and there is no other pressing trade then I reckon we do. Can make that call once we have a bit more info though huh!

Bateman has had 3 scores 49, 60, 90, playing 80 every week, scoring consistently. Was a gun in Superleague as well. Priced at around 45 still, his floor will be higher than that each game. BE of around 16 this week, not getting any cheaper. The premium player in his position for both floor and ceiling, plays the first bye, no chance of Origin.

    Rein added for Capewell.

Now for Capewell and Tolman to go big this week Smile

Have you ever considered that opinions aren’t necessarily facts? No one has a floor of 45
