Well well look at this big shot here leaving one of them out while I have to play both of them. Lawrie is safe for 35 points plus but honestly so is Capewell going by his scores minus the one game he had to go to the wing.

Lawrie isn't going to be asked to go the outside backs during a game though so he's probably the safer choice.

To be fair, I just have a team full of underperforming mid-rangers.

Haha, considering brining him in too. Can't find the quote now from Brennan that was posted on nrlsctalk. Basically Saying he now realises that James in the middle is what's best for James and the team

Its not too surprising that they have started 0/3 considering they lost both halves week 1 and have been playing James in the wrong position. I think any team struggles with both halves missing at the start of the season. They have a decent squad and can quickly turn this around, especially if some of their past performers start finding some form. I think James can be a sneaky pick up the right time, that most will easily miss.

    1 vote Lawrie.

Capewell should be 40+ when not moved to outside backs during a game. Thats the score you optimistically hope for from Lawrie. Unless you have no faith in the sharks back 5 staying upright for 1 week go Capewell.

Had a quick look at Ryan James stats and he averaged 54.8 at prop last year. Some very big scores thrown in with some really meagre scores like a 37 from an 80 minute appearance at prop.

Think he'll be worth a look at least. Could prove a handy swap for a peaked cow soon enough.

Ok final decisions on outs this week.

Edwards and Burns out. Rein and Harris-Tavita in.

Edwards was a must go at this point. But was hard deciding between Burns/AK/D.Brown. i Just dont expect CHT to do much better then AK and if he bombs AK might be right back in the team. Also the dream fantasy scenario is Green gets injured and they both get a money making stint together so from here on out ill probably keep them both. So only getting rid of Burns over Brown because hes sitting on more money that i can use elsewhere.

Also was tossing up between Bringing in Rein or Bateman. I know there are alot of concerns over Reins minutes with Brimson potentially sharing the role but thats not a guarantee. Also im hesitant to bring in Bateman yet. If i do it would be bringing in another keeper this early in the season. locking up more of my money and limiting my end of season options where in theory Rein can make more money and you know he will have to go later so can plan a better future team with him.

So final team for the week...well for now.

    (C)ook
    Surgesss, Tolman
    Arrow, Garner, Murray
    Morgan, Harris-Tavita
    Bird, Nikora
    Ravalawa, CNK, Sivo

    Farah, Mahoney, Rein, Keighran
    Gillett, Lawrie, Host, D.brown

Gonna loop Gillett/Lawrie just to cover my ass on the bench but rolling the dice with my wfb line.

Seeing rumours in FB groups that Koroisau will end up moving to halves and Fainu will become starting hooker. Makes sense for the team, so Fainu could be a really good pick up in a couple of weeks.

I know PODs are a big deal at the start of the season but hang with me as I advertise someone most have given up on. And I think its a mistake.

Dylan Edwards is a good POD at this point. I mean he has been awful in 2/3 games and par in another but he has always played hard and tried to be involved. When the panthers start firing he will be a big part of it. Give him a slightly dry game and I'm sure he will improve. Low scores can happen with good wfb (see Tedesco rd1, RTS rd2). Also he plays Rd 12 before you trade him to one of the big 3 keepers (TTurbo, Tedesco, Ponga).

    Worst Case:
If he averages 35 from here he drops < 20k.

    Best case:
Exactly who we thought he was at the start of season. Puts on approx. 200k. Even better for those that didn't start with him and can wait till he bottoms out and shows a good score.

If at the start of the season Edwards was priced at 476k (34 avg) I would have jumped on for sure. Don't think anything has changed about why I bought him in so I'll stick with him. Anyone else riding with Edwards or is the mood more Deadwards in here?

Don't have him, and generally agree, but I can imagine he may not get many more chances under new coach Cleary, with Aekins and DWZ as great replacements that would already be starting fullbacks at many clubs.

Completely agree, haven’t even considered dropping him at this stage. Lots of WFBs in the same conditions would probably have failed to fire so far.

The panthers should be a much better team than they have shown so far. None of their backs have scored a try this season!
I’m hoping he benefits from a bit of go forward off Kikau.

I wouldn’t want Bateman if he started averaging 45. At least not in a rush. He does seem to be a fun player to have in your team which o something I look for

CHT is arguably higher risk than Carty you’re right

You wouldn’t want a ctr that averages 45? Jesus, higher expectations than my mrs.
