It means I play Rava this week which sucks, but next week using two of Bird, Lawrie, Burr, & Host will be able to get me Ponga and another CC. (Which are drying up as I am missing the boat on CHT & Okunbur.

I dont think its an all or nothing thing with Bateman. I reckon he's a must before 12 and so if you dont have him now, you may not get him for a few weeks, but you can still get him. I actually think his average will end up around 50 in which case he is almost fully priced. There's other guns out there at way bigger discount, I'd target them to be honest.

Next week going to be difficult to choose which guns to grab. Teddy, Ponga, Crichton, Taupau all options

He is averaging 62 in four games and had a 49 against the storm and a 52 where he did fuck all. I think Canberra look like a top 6 side this year so far. If he is grabbing 50’s in those sorts of games I think he at least averages 55+. Just imo

Certainly looks like a guy who will have a few 80+ scores for the year

Key point though, he didnt get signed as a free agent, he got signed under the international pathway programme. Wont play in 2019. He might get signed as a FA next year but I doubt it.... Its a money grab thing IMO. International players sell jersey, grab media time etc. Just like Hayne. Worked for a little bit and then faded out. I dont see Holmes succeeding here to be honest.

Perhaps 50 was conservative. My point was I dont think his price 'soars' from here to the point where you will no longer be able to get him if you dont grab him this week.

I.e. even if he scores 60s for the next 3 weeks he only rises by $100k.

I just dont see the 62 average as sustainable, that would put him in some pretty elite fantasy company... He looks great, dont get me wrong, and I have him, but I dont think he's a now or never player considering what he is currently priced at.

Did you get what you were after in the CHT BE thing?

Might grab Ponga this week and leave Tedesco until after origin and use the cash to try and nab a round 12 gun instead

Tapau, tapine in 3 weeks, James in the next 2 or 3 funded likely by a lawrie milking, a McCullough banishing and probably Hughes once burns is back to take his place

I see now that I had too many mid rangers and trying to gradually shift to a more guns and cows approach with fallen guns on the menu

Hopefully have some trades left at the end of it...

I'm going to give him a miss until after Origin. Started with RTS, picking up Ponga this week to net the extra cash to fund Crichton next week. Eventually move Ponga into WFB and grab Teddy when hes at his most expensive cheer

    Edit:

I could also dump Edwards + Host for Okunbur and Chanel. Which would bank $328k to then get me one of Bateman/Ponga next week, and chase the other the following week.

Bateman is a must have, more points differential than any other player in their position, as he is going to score far more than any other center and plays the first bye, still under-priced and increasing in value.

The spanner in the works is that the Dogs were the best side in NSW Cup last year, but the Doggies are a bottom 4 NRL side Beer

Not sure how Bateman would end up with an average of 50. Current average of 62. On a quiet day where he looks far less involved he is getting 50, he just doesn't have days where he gets a 30-40 and will have a number of 70-80+ through the season. Hasn't even scored a try yet and only 1 try assist. High 50s to 60 average most likely.

Are you basically saying he will never score below 50 for the rest of season? He's had a 49, a 40 point game will come IMO.

That's what everyone was saying last year before he scored 104 and went on the average 61 over the rest of the season. Taupau like Teddy is one of the players you want to own before the big score not after

So I don't mind Paul Kent, and he does keep it real. But I fail to see why he reckons Val should throw away a free $20k for a 30min chat??? I'd do a lot more for $30k..
E.g. Get up every week day at 7am and battle through traffic for 6 months... Plebs

I said a while ago that I think his floor will be around 45. He should be back at lock again this week, any time he is getting 80 minutes at lock I don't see him scoring badly. Have a look at Jurbo, in 70+ minutes at lock he had 1 score under 44 last season and averaged 58 for the year.

I watched NRL360 for the first time in a while yesterday, and was reminded why I stopped watching it.

These guys (Kent and co) are just annoyed that he wouldn't speak to them, and give htem the scoop. It is childish from the media.

Then they carry on about Roberts passing out (and Kent goes as far to say he thinks there was drugs involved - what right does he have to say this on television), then laugh off Latrell Mitchell getting fined by the police for an argument with the cops.

    Spare me this junk.
