Macca putting up close to 50 each week may not be a problem per se but with Rein not being a permanent option either there's got to be someone better to line up with at HOK before it's too late. Same goes for Bird and not having Bateman in my side.

I mean Ponga ain't going to get much cheaper but got to get rid of those Broncos. Bird looked like a borderline keeper the first two weeks but his recent scores, oy vey I think we're getting a better look at his standard game.

Ponga is currently as good a value as you will get in a proven WFB Gun.  Meaney's previous year's stats were horrocious but can't argue with current form, considering his price, so potentially worth the risk for cash generation. Gutho will more than likely continue to be up and down, and a 46 in Round 2 with a couple of meaties verses 61 and going hungry last week is testament to that.

Rein may not be permanent as you say, but as best we know he gets at least another 2 months (and more than likely 80 minutes throughout that).  He can match Macca points wise and for 150k less even after this Round potentially.

Bird has served his purpose and Bateman more than likely will not be below 750k for the rest of the year.

Without seeing the rest of your team I reckon Macca to Rein and Bird to Ponga would be the go.  Clear gain in both points and potential cash generation.

Oh I already have Rein, it's just I'd want to upgrade McCullough before Rein's run in first grade ends.

I have Capewell, Okunbor and Xerri who can fill the centre slot until Bateman comes in.

I've had to run Sivo last week and this week because of the Burns injury so getting a reliable scorer in my WFB is priority but damn do I need Bateman.

    Also cheers for the reply.

    Rnd 2
    Salmon - lawrie
    Radley - Bateman

    Rnd 3
    Holland - bird
    Bmoz - wighton

    Rnd 4
    Arrow - twal
    Burns - rein

    Rnd 5
    Ak - cht
    Host - okkie

So far haven't made to many errors maybe the arrow trade is side ways, everyone been happy with their trades so far this year ?

    Rnd 2

    Tatola to Lawrie (fine)

    Rnd 3

Capewell to Bird (meh, but grabbed a bit of cash)

    Rnd 4

Friend & Burns to Bateman & Cartwright (ok, I think)

    Rnd 5

Brown & Keighran to Rein & CHT (slightly with the herd, but hopefully ok)

Mostly happy that I've banked two trades. Barring injuries going to go Bird and cow (Burr? Rava? depends on BE) to Haas and probably Ponga next week (or maybe cut-price Kamikamica to Wighton) then try to save some more trades while the other cows mature with this team, then target Taupau, Kikau etc for round 12 and also fix my halves...

    Cook
    Fifita, Surgess
    Murray, Garner, Arrow
    Morgan, Carty
    Bateman, Nikora
    Ted, Ponga/Wiighton, CNK

    Mahoney, Rein, Lawrie, Haas

    CHT, Sivo, Burr/Kamikamica, Ravalawa

Yeah nice work with your trades so far, looking good Smile

    Mine have been:
    Rnd 2
    Horsburgh - Lawrie
    Widdop - B Smith

    Rnd 3
    Morgan - Moses
    Holland - CNK

    Rnd 4
    Cook - Rein
    Keighran - Carty

    Rnd 5
    B Smith - Haas
    Ravalawa / Brown - RTS

    Planned for Rnd 6
    Hughes - Ponga
Ravalawa / Brown - Value forward like Aloiai / Ogden

Just 1 wasted trade so far with B Smith in and out, but wasn't the worst error, he increased in value while with me, but wasn't getting the role I had hoped for. Releasing Cook has enabled bringing in Rein, RTS and Ponga which is more than fair in exchange.

Round 2 - Napa to Lawrie

Round 3 - Holland to Moses

Round 4 - Burns to Xerri
    Keighran to Rein

Round 5 - Brown to CHT
    Host to Okunbor

Pulling the pin on Napa so early didn't work out with how well he scored the next two weeks but Lawrie has done a great job of making cash.
The Moses trade took a week to pay off and since then it's all been money, money, money.

I haven't caught up on likely the 20 pages of people blasting the broncos, but my uneducated league thoughts are their halves are the problem. In Rugby Union at least, if you playmakers cut inside 9 times out of 10 and didnt feed the ball to their outside backs you would struggle. I look at Nikorima and Milford and they rarely feed the ball to their outsides. I swear they cut in more than they dont. Is this an issue? Happy to be educated here.

For fantasy its a killer, hence why I noticed Smile

    Trades so far:

R2: Holland to lawrie and kahu to CNK- happy to bite the bullet quickly on these despite Holland coming good last week as I would have jettisoned him before that score anyway but lost more cash if I’d waited longer. I know my brain and trade rage

R3: sironen to rein. I think it was after the eels had locked out. Would have preferred lane to rein, and had tossed and turned over lane to Bateman as well but missed points and cash on that one. I was happy with sironen but couldn’t pick who to drop

R4: friend to Bateman and keighran to Carty. Still hopeful the Carty Party is a late bloomer

R5: lane to Ponga and host to CHT. Kept brown for dark arts and safeguarded WFB and halves as a result. Restraint because of the above meant missing Haas but shouldn’t cost me too heavily given CHTs BE

R6: at this stage brown to haas. Possibly rava to a better cow but he’s my WFB cover

Also. The above trades would have been far worse if it wasn’t for you lot.

Last year round 2 I brought in Robinson playing wing for the Chook’s because I thought I’d get him in early. Safe to say I’ve learnt how to play the game a bit better since then and lurking and now contributing to this forum is a big part of why

And @mattnz I wouldn’t sweat that comment mate, you’re one of the most helpful people here and more out of the box than most which is much needed when group think mentality can take over and cause blindspots

Watson likely to get the bench role for my boys tmw arvo with Mann to miss out with a small sternum injury

a few weeks in that role and he will be very juicy when he comes back into five eight eventually for those who can trust him. at potentially sub 400k it would be a no brainer at 5/8th

looking like round 8 from what I've heard. Given he was having PRP injections they are desperate to get him back. I'd rather them not trbojevic him after waiting out the first injury as hammies have the hit recurrence of injury of any muscle

What was the second trade? I can see you played both Gillet and Dewards. Is there a sivo at the back with him?

Edit: nvm, just saw the next post and you've got a big pong down there! The climb starts this week mate.

Is DWZ a trap. Can he score well fantasy wise at f/b. He's always struck me as one of those players where his real life play doesn't really translate into fantasy. Will he outscore Ravalawa or Sivo by that much to make him a good pick. Thoughts & thanks.
