I'm only considering bringing in a top gun this week because of the Fifita situation, he's my main captaincy option and if he's out or playing at limited capacity I need to fix it.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 33
I'm tempted to bring a gun like Cook, Farah, or DCE into the team. But it still relatively early in the season and for the long run it's better to make money making decisions. (Buy guns at low cost, sell cows at peak)

Yeah I’m sure a few have their eyes on DCE I mentioned him last night. I think his price is going to stay around the same and think Ponga is going to murder the titans so Ponga and Haas in this week DCE and Cook in next simples

Its more that certain players are out of reach for most people so they don't get a mention. He's been talked about near on every week on the podcast.rhinoceroo wrote:With the talk about a lot of forum teams being similar, it's weird that all the talk is about Cook & Ponga while nobody is mentioning (and very few here own) a guy who is averaging ten points more than the next best in his position and is in most of the top-ranked non-forum teams (hence them being top-ranked). Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 33
I know people are down on Bird but I'm still hesitant to trade him out. That said, I can comfortably go Bird -> Tedesco, and fix my WFB.
Tempted to get Cook instead, but would need to trade out someone like Niukore to do it. Niukore was a chance of back to back 50's until Fergo's injury pushed him out wide.
Cook gives a solid captain option, but means playing a dud at WFB (I still have Burns who isn't too far off). Tedesco a regular chance of going large, but risk of scoring 30 to 40s

I'm keeping Bird.
1. I have too many other problems to deal with
2. He hasn't played that badly, he is just as close to another 50 as he is to another 20.

It just takes Broncos to play a decent game for him to post a big score. Bombed an absolute pearler weekend just gone. Has one of the best finishers outside of him. Only problem is his BE is now 40, which he can easily reach, but another 20 odd and he starts leaking some cash.

Bird>Haas and Rava>Teddy for me
Should have plenty of cash for Sivo>Ponga next week unless he goes mental. Hopefully no new must have cow pops up again so I can actually use some cash

Niukore might be impacted by Manu Ma'u returning this week. Have no idea how their 2RF/lock will look with Ma'u back. Maybe Niukore might still be safe and Ma'u goes to lock and Moeroa gets pushed to the bench and someone like Evans drops out

With the DCE questiom, I get that people can't afford him - I can't afford him myself - but if you can afford Cook you can afford DCE and if there was a hooker or FRF averaging 10 more than the next best (which Cook and Fifita aren't), everyone would be moving mountains to get them in ASAP. The idea that the gap between halves is unsustainable is a fair argument, albeit a judgement call.

Is it worth emptying the war chest for RTS or Teddy or banking a bit of cash and getting Guth/Wighton?
Current wfb was Dedwards/Sivo/CNK and has been my major Achilles heel in recent weeks! Any thoughts welcome!
RTS is looking great, will be the top points scoring WFB this season 4 scores 59+ so far. Gunning it, must have and no origin.

We have years of evidence about what DCE is. He has had a few purple patches like this before with a few monster scores but he always has some lower ones thrown in. I agree with Milchy that I would rather have Cleary and the cash

Bird could be a hold. The broncos are eventually going to bounce back in form and he will stop bombing tries and start scoring them againmy tv broke wrote:I know people are down on Bird but I'm still hesitant to trade him out. That said, I can comfortably go Bird -> Tedesco, and fix my WFB.

I've read that in Mau's limited pre-season he trained in the middle, and will likely play there when he returns.
Niukore looks an excellent footballer. Lane spent all pre-season on the left edge and that was previously Mau's spot.
I'm reluctant to trade Niukore as well, but he probably isn't far from topping out in price. I still think Bird will get close to 600k, although wether he can before round 12 is now doubtful. Niukore does play round 12.. but trading him to Cook is a significant upgrade and means that round 12 is not really relevant.

I'm trading Bird. He's pissed me off this week and he'll probably come good, but if you have eg Bateman/Nikora there's not much point in having 470k on the EMG that may or may not make another 100k on an optimistic 40 average over the next couple of months. There are quicker ways to make money.

If you think that DCE will average 10+ more than the next half come end of season, then he is a priority to get in ASAP.
