    Rd12 Team:

    Rein
Tolman + James (if I stick with bringing him in this week)
    Murray
    Carty
    Bateman
    CNK Burns

    Mahoney

Possibly tapau or lolo to be added if the timing looks right to get them

Was banking on tapine once he bottomed out to as an eventual top 17 or 18th man for around 500k. Poor bugger will be a good pick up when he's back though if he can get his big minute role back and stay on the park

Am I mad for opting for James over Ponga?

Probably going Bird > Xerri and Gillett > James.
Gets me a Rd 12 gun and also leaves me 135k to work on getting Ponga next week.

    Team after trades would be:

    Cook
    Fifita James
    Arrow Murray Garner
    Cleary Carty
    Bateman Nikora
    Teddy CNK Sivo

    Haas Rein Lawrie Burr

    Xerri Ravalawa Burns Sele

Starting to plan my trades a bit leading up to round 12.

I'm hoping to make 4 more trades between now and then,

Lawrie + Morgan (when they peak) ---> Cashie & keeper
    Rein/Garner + Rava/Okkie ---> Cashie & Keeper

All dependent on team movements/form/BEs etc.

If you think James is going to be a keeper from here on in, then pull the trigger.

In saying that, Ponga should only play 2 (origin/byes) fewer games than James.

If James averages 50 and Ponga averages 57 then

    50 x 20 = 1000 points from James
    56 x 18 = 1008 points from Ponga

ie; James needs to average within 6 points of Ponga for the season to be a better option.

They're both around the same price so if you're looking at bringing both in at some stage then it's also worth considering their break-evens.

Just inside the top 10,000 at 9600 odd. The tops a bloody long way away haha

Looking at doing the same thing with my team

Only really looking at Taupau, Lolo (if fit and firing) and Cleary (if not selected for Origin) to add to team as keepers and hopefully able to hold on to Mahoney and Rein to move onto 2 of Farah/McInnes/Smith post R12 by facilitating those moves with a few cash cows (dropping Lawrie, Ravalawa, Carty)

Haha I have thought about this. Playing Sivo/Rava scares me off though.

Ponga would only play one less game than James, if James doesn't make origin.

If James makes origin, then they play the same amount of games.

Further to the James vs Ponga.

    BREAKEVENS:

    James: 33
    Ponga: 43

On the assumption people are bringing these two in due to dropping price from playing a different position and then averaging higher in their current position.

Ponga has a BE of 43. He's now played two games at fullback for an average of 56. (61, 51)
James has a BE of 33. He's now played three games at prop for an average of 51. (45, 34, 75).

Sorry, you're right. I keep forgetting there are only two byes these days where teams play.

Well it sure doesn't look like there's going to be any appealing money makers coming up anytime soon. There may be a few decent cash-out options around Origin time though.

Yep, that's the other thing to consider.

Buying player x vs player y when it comes to different positions =

    player x + player a

    or

    player y + player b

Those player a & b scores are important.

Is any of what I'm saying making sense any more? It's hard to tell haha.

Yeah i get ya mate. Plenty of guys in my 2RF/FRF that will score higher than Sivo/Rava. So bringing in Ponga is an easy one this week

Do we know why Sele was dropped? Trying to work out who gets the boot out of him and Bird.

Would you trade out Sele now over Bird? Feel like I prefer having a player 'in the game' rather than red dot.

Dont need to play either and doesn't affect trade ins this week. Bird out this week leaves more cash in bank for next week's trades.

    Thoughts?

To my eye, Panthers are much better with Sele on the field.

Not so much Bird and the Broncs.

Someone said they saw a tweet saying it was sore ribs for Sele, so he got a hold from me.

He was almost one of there best on ground a fortnight ago. He just comes on and runs hard and tackles everything. Plus Yeo and Kikau are pretty injury prone so he can fill in as a starter at any time. He is a hold for me as he has a low BE. If out next week also he may be a sell. It was sad to say goodbye to Burns but I am praying he eases himself back in or he is still cheap enough to bring in as a downgrade later on anyways.
