ohhhhh but I really need that pair this week.....they are 20% off!!!!
Never mind about your wage (Trades)
The trades most people are spruking are origin players, who are probably going to miss 3 - 4 matches minimum, and you have to trade the rest of your team out for round 12 anyway.
Phucking crazy.
3-4 weeks? An origin player is going to miss 1... maybe 2 games max depending on whether or not the coach wants to rest them.

I'm at 26, after using two this week (tentatively)
I'm at 25, and im only using trades now for brand new fresh rookie or round 12 players.
I've also had a godawful amount of holes to plug, Started with Offa, Watson, edwards, brown, kerighan and didnt have bateman or bird.
Im feeling naked with 25 at round 7 tbh.

Xerri JS was pretty much 4-6 weeks solid (now seems season long).
Herbert seems this week is it. Has Kata, RTS, Hiku, Beale, Fusitua hanging around waiting to return/go back to position.

Getting those shoes a week earlier than everyone else is a huge part of winning. Were all going to have close to the same team by round 20, it's getting the team earlier that wins the comp.lukeaye wrote:This thread is like listening to a bunch of women about what shoes go on sale this week.

Don't Origin players only potentially miss one extra game now? Fuck, I'm so confused, but also too lazy to go look it up.

Yes true but would you rather save trades and miss out on Teddy, Ponga, Cleary, Crichton, Bateman, CNK, Rein and now CHT, Xerri and Haas?? Or would rather get these guys in ASAP at their absolute cheapest and then sit tight for a few rounds.
After this week I won't be trading unless a nice cow comes in to the field. Team is sitting at
Cook
Fifi Tolman
Arrow Murray Garner
Cleary Hughes
Bateman Nikora
Teddy CNK Ponga
Rein Haas Whitbread Brown
CHT Sivo Rava Xerri
Unless injury strikes i can sit tight and bank my trades now for several weeks only needing to pick up some cash makers here and there.

Double trading for the first couple of months has never been an issue in my book. I don't think I have ever NOT saved a couple of trades by now and sometimes feel that's where I go wrong. Particularly when the last 3 or so Seasons we haven't had those massive injury runs that we did back in 2012/13 (from memory).

Surely guys like Tolo, Bateman, Farrah, JFH, Tolman, Taupau, AFB are priorities at this point?
You've answered your own question here with your comment about Farah being underpriced. People are bringing in Cleary & Ponga because they're underpriced keepers and it doesn't matter if they score a 0 in round 12 and 16 when they'll score double or triple across the season what your midrangers and dud pods score in the bye rounds

Everyone has 1 bye over the Origin period. No one plays at all during Origin 2. They miss 1 extra game and may get lesser minutes in additional games if coaches decide they have too heavy a workload, especially if 2-3 day turnaround from Origin.

Origin 2 is a standalone weekend, so doesn't affect NRL rounds at all really, unless of course a coach just gives them a game off the week after, but its not like they are "backing up" this time.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 37
I am confused by the motivation to choose players you would not normally choose in any case who play Round 12. There are not enough trades available to transform your team between Round 12 and Round 16 to make sure you have enough players, nor would this be wise. The way I see it you either go well in Round 12 or Round 16 and the priority should be getting keepers ASAP in all positions rather than focusing on a small benefit in one round.
Any thoughts to the contrary?

Mind you, Tigers vs Souths is 4 days after the standalone origin, game 2 (sunday). Dragons, Cowboys, Roosters, Storm all play 5 days later.
Been said alot over the years that 4 or 5 days after an origin is the hardest time to play

Yeah I usually go on a massive run at the end of the season with my saved trades.
I'm definitely trading harder in the earlier stages this year. I'm saving my first trade this week (hopefully).
Need a bit of luck to pick the right cashies and milk cows at the right time in the next month or so.

I've been the same in the past and that's why I'm trading so hard this year as well. If I crash and burn late so be it but at least it won't be for lack of trying.SI wrote:

Origin gets its own weekend now for game two where there are no games at all and a bye for the first game and third game.
Yes i am speaking in terms of compared to Non-Origin players. An origin player will miss 2 games and a non origin player will miss 1 game. So i think getting to your final 17 is a lot more important and more of an urgency than bye planning now.
