The thing Super League does that we should have copied is having them somewhere that doesn't usually host league.
Adelaide, Perth, or even Melbourne would have been great weekends. Bit different in the UK I guess with everything being much closer

If anyone is looking at trading Lachlan Lewis out this week, you may want to hold off. Foran may be back this week.

Hopefully the crowd figures are good enough that non league cities want to throw money at the NRL to host it. I could handle a long weekend of footy away every year.bluetige wrote:
Its a stupid idea for 1 city to get everything for the weekend, fuck the rest of Australia. Seriously though, I don't care and am interested to see the crowd figures, that part should be good.
The thing that really pisses me off is Broncos get to play an away game at HOME. The Donkeys get enough favours from the NRL as it is, they don't need any more leg-ups.

A couple of interesting comments on Waddell & Garner re Daily Telegraph late mail for round 8:
Another potential change could be Sironen partnering Croker in the halves & Elgey bench & either Waddell or Gosiewski starting in the 2fr (note also that they don't reckon Koroisau will play so Fainu starts & Boyle onto the bench)
Even though Garner has been named on the bench I expect him to start over McQueen
Also I just read some Eels forums & the rumour is Gutherson might be carrying an injury & that he will sign for Manly. The Manly news has sent a few of them mad & comments have been quite brutal like drop him, take the (c) off him, he's a traitor going to the enemy & that he'll get booed & abused on Sunday. Also they reckon he's done nothing at the club & the money he wants is not what he's worth & if he doesn't like it then too bad for him.

Lots of uncertainty this round, planning to trade as late as possible, and make the most of any opportunities that get announced late, an hour before kickoff.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 41
I can't believe I've done this. I've reversed my McCullough to Mahoney trade.
I just feel like with everyone crapping on him and trading him out, stupid Mole articles saying they were considering Su'A and retaining his Origin spot by default, he might actually fire up and stick it to everyone.
That or I have another sub-50 score coming my way which is more likely but some part of me thinks I shouldn't let him go yet.

10 probably, got 9 currently (Tolman, Murray, ARey, Bateman, CNK, Mahoney, Rein, Carty, Garrick). Will look to add Lolo/Taupau
The only one I've traded in really with R12 in mind is probably ARey because I need a gun HLF this week (bringing in this week) with the decision between ARey, Munster and Cleary being rather tough
Aiming for a mass exodus post R12 in R13 and R14 (just looked the other day, 4 trades in this round!!) for gun players to bring in for peaked cash cows and those in R12 that won't be keepers

Probably ~12 for me. I'll run out of trades otherwise!

Gillett/Capewell/Garner looking like they will stick around this week. Hoping they put up 40+ so I can decide what to do next week.
Have no idea what to do so no trading and head in sand tactics apply

This is not directed at MF, but everyone, just used his initial post.
I've seen it asked a few times online and can't find the answer . But what else are the NRL doing ?
Just putting all the games in 1 city over a long weekend isn't going to be a success.
What have they put on outside the ground ?
Where are all the player signings ?
Where are the meet and greet ?
Where are the training sessions ?
It should be more like a week of festivities, with packages not just to attend games but combinations of the above and games, throw in a photo with the Scott Minto statue or a celebrity bus tour of all the brown paper bag drop points and pubs the Jet has been kicked out of.
It just seems like typical NRL amateur hour and a massive missed opportunity.

I currently have 9 and targeting Taumalolo next week or two. Not counting Arrow, Cleary and Morgan who I assume will play origin.
Would be nice to get to 12-13.

I have 9 at the moment. I’d be happy with 12. I feel like most would be around that mark

If Waddell comes into the starting side I’ll just go rava to Waddell instead of Lomax. Easy doneWhite Lightning wrote:A couple of interesting comments on Waddell & Garner re Daily Telegraph late mail for round 8:

Wouldn’t you then be burned on the second bye round? Unless you plan on ploughing through trades

I couldn’t agree more. When it first happened I was super excited for it and considered going myself when it was first announced but it’s just turned into a normal round. Like you said they could have done so much more but they just simply chose not too.
In the future I would be more excited to see maybe 4 games Saturday in Mebourne and 4 Sunday in Perth with them using their whole ass to promote it and put on a spectacle
