Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 45
Hey guys been a while since I've posted.
Team doing shit this year but hey I didn't captain Fifita. 289/6 Arrow Captain so not the best start still with Fifita 11 and Xerri 30 (Nikora robbed him of a 15+ point play)!
Anyway been looking forward to the byes this year and was just trying to get a gauge on the teams that are effected the most by origin. Looking at forwards as they pick up more minutes potentially (and not just the bye rounds).
Dragons
Blake Lawrie - might keep him during the bye period due to TSims, Frizell and Vaughan all playing origin even though he doesn't play round 12.
L leilua - could start some games during this period hopefully so could be a good round 13 pickup depending on TSims/Frizell/Host situation.
While we are on the Dragons McInnes would be a decent round 13 pickup.
Titans
Fotuaika could pick up some slack with Arrow and JWallace potentially on duty and potentially rested - risky.
Might mention Ash Taylor could be worth the price.
Panthers
Leota or Sele but not sure on Tamou/RCG Origin prospects.
Jerome Luai?
Round 13 pickups
Matterson, Twal, Farah, RTS, Smith, McInnes, I Papali'i

Peachy and Albert kelly had about a dozen brain snaps between them in the second half. Also, if Don pockets the short kick he almost goes over untouched.
The middle forwards was not the issue for the titans. Outside backs had stinkers.
The Titans lacked leadership from the halves a crucial parts of the game. This leads to players like Peachy having to try to create something. I think Kelly should be replaced. Surely there is someone better.

Then there's the plot twist that they want someone for the AFL or A-league comp, and mtb hates AFL/soccer (just made that last bit up, don't actually know)

I’ll probably put my hand up for the job. It’s potentially archaic compared with the coding I’ve been helping ASIO with, but I wouldn’t mind stepping back into something a little more casual.

Definitely one to watch though, maybe even next weeks trade. Extra points from kicking you'd think and he was one of the options for Goal kicking too wasn't he? Could see him getting 5-8 points extra from that alone. If he thrives with green as a partner could see him being a 10-12 point better scorer which would put him potentially as a pod keeper. Maybe. All big ifs though
Not that it changes what u said, but I read Cooks post as just the players have swapped in real life, not that he actually traded that way. Here nor there i guess.

I actually really liked Arthars. Was super quick and good under the high ball. Was initially Slaters successor at the Storm but Titans gobbled him up.

Happy to avoid the Fifita captaincy last night. This is the 4th week I've owned Cook and he's been my captain every week. He had a down game with the 47 but is averaging just under 60 from the 3 games I've had him for so I'm fine with that.
There's just too many worries with other captain choices to me. Fifi can either go 70 or 45, Taupau the same, Arrow's minutes have been up and down this year. Smith probably the next best captain option after Cook at the moment I reckon.

Brennan isn't having a great run with recruitment. Peachey, Kelly, Boyd, Latu all stinking it up, then there is Cartright. Rein has played well, and I guess Tyrone Roberts was going alright too.

Video on NRL.com with Cleary saying he hasn't been up to Origin scratch with his form. Gives me the feeling he is about to kick into gear and a big win from the Panthers tonight could see them hit some form. Interesting to see Dedwards still in the reserves for Panthers and there are no NSW cup games this weekend but there are QCup games.

Time to start brushing up on your VB? I never knew you were a dev, why are you so nice (to others, not me) then?SI wrote:I’ll probably put my hand up for the job. Nah - no Q Cup either, both are having a bye week (and its rep weekend for them, QLD Residents vs NSW Residents on sunday)

Yep, I knew I was over qualified before I applied, sorry for wasting your time mate. How did Steve Wozniak pan out in the end?Archer wrote:I think I might have come across your resume before somewhere.... Oh that's right it was SI'sMilchy wrote:

Big game for Cleary Snr against his old Mob who he did the dirty! Basing this on nothing at all but Cleary for 73 tonight.

On the topic of Cook having a fantasy team, I started thinking about what it would be like if the Comms guys all had teams, and what they'd look like..
Anasta.. would run out of trades by round 17.
Blocker.. would pick all the big props who he likes because they're "old school", but terrible fantasy scorers.
Toovey.. moneyball style team with his accounting background
Hasler.. probably quietly win the comp (I recall a story from Willie Mason on potentially signing with the Dogs, and Hasler pulling out a massive folder of stats and stating Aiden Tolman was the best prop in the game)
Brennan.. would fuck up his bench. just completely fuck up a loop. Have Cook in his EMGs the day he busts out an 80

I'm still amazed that Haas was on the Warriors books before the Broncos showered him with a tonne of cash & he signed for them. When you think of all the crap front rowers (& there qave been plenty) the Warriors have played in the front row when Haas could of been there.
