Initial trades are Burr and Lawrie out for Taupau and Young. Need Taupaus r12 points, and Young is obvious. Main concern is if I grab these two I'll be running Carty or Dearden at half until round 12, worrying.

Wighton seems the best 12 option but I feel its a bit late to grab him, Cleary could be an option but I really don't see him getting dropped for Origin I. Teddy misses too many games. Already have RTS. Maybe Milf since he plays 16.

Grabbing Young and Taupau also leaves me with no more room for 12. Everyone else is either a keeper, a cow or needed for 12... Tough call this week.

Cleary vs the Warriors is tempting. He has scored big against them before and wouldn't surprise me if the warriors are a bit flat this game after their win on the weekend.

Are you 2nd overall? Fantastic effort if you are!!

I like the trades, but would love to see your full squad before commenting further.

Pretty sure Bellyache already said Hughes will miss the Tigers clash under HIA protocol. Unless Papenhyuzen busts out a banger of a game Hughes will go back there, we aren't going to beat every team by 60 points every week. Eels were switched off on all facets of the game. Don't get me wrong Pappy looks like a future star but I think not this year. Drinkwater due back in a few weeks also and he was No 1 choice in the pre season.

Both are solid options IMO! Both appear to have risks associated with them too.

Martin of course needs to be named to start before he's even in consideration though.

What's the latest on Tapine? Seems to be a pattern at the Raiders with players coming back faster than expected....

I think the second-row/locks are doing a good job at the moment. They are getting no where from there forwards and their bench productions is just shite. Leota and Grant are SPUDS! They have two utilities on the bench. Maloney is playing like he is barbecuing alone again. Their back 3 have had nothing to give either.

For now haha, there isn't much in it at the top. Just a few points between second and 50th. First bye round should hurt me.

Have $469k ITB too, so inclined to spend. Maybe Kapow + a gun half is the better play. Chase the remaining 500k needed for final team post origin.

    Team is:

    Cook
    Fifi Haas
    Murray Arrow Lolo
    Arey Carty
    Nikora Xerri
    RTS Ponga CNK

    Rein Twal Tolman Lawrie
    Burr Dearden Sivo Lomax

    Congrats mate , great stuff.

Re Young, it's a risk given the Tapine talk, so I'd do as much as I could to find out more. You really dont want to buy him this week if he's not gonna play 12, but it might be the case you just have to take a punt either way without the info you need. As has been pointed out, Martin from the Panthers might be a better option if he gets named to start. I got Young last week for what its worth. The other option could be Dunn from the cowboys.

I think Taupau is as good an option as any in terms of a gun to bring in. I think he can only get better from here.

    Good luck!

Martin got suspended for the Wests game but he seems ahead in the pecking order of guys like Sele, Hetherington, Fuimaono & Ellis. With Kikau limping off & Yeo out long term there's 2 of the 3 backrow positions to fill. JFH will start at lock now (he started 2fr v Wests but after Ellis went off on 20 minutes, JFH moved to lock & played out the game there). Coach Cleary said after the game he'll be going through the squad appraising all the players re their effort. Liam Martin gives 100% & looked really good in round 8 (when he got suspended) playing 60 minutes with a high work rate. I think Martin is the type of player coach Cleary will rely on to get his team moving in the right direction.

I'm also looking at Kapow and Young, even so Tapine's pending return is a bit of a concern.

And this is why we should stop planning for R12.

Morgan is worth holding imo.. 33 isnt the worst score ever considering the game + the sin bin... so i will most likely hold him till after round 12.. he should score around 40 till then which im fine with.

I hope so. I also remember I think maybe Fatty or Joey Johns talking him up as a really good player. Would be a great RD12 cashout.

BE of 48 which he has only cracked twice this year (68 Rd1, 50 Rd4) I can only see him losing money.

(Sold him a few weeks ago)

You know why I know Martin is a great talent & player because MS has recommended him in the past & when MS says something I always listen.

Tossing up between Taupau and SST. Taupau plays 12 but SST seems to be mirroring Taupau's 2018 efforts. Plus is a good POD.
