Considering NSW will probably have Klemmer on the bench and maybe Fafita as well, and the likes of Woods and Gallen starting, then probably both benches will have more impact that large parts of the starting packs.
first 20-30 could be a real grind, the game may really start when the players come off the bench
i mentioned the reduced interchange playing a factor in another thread, morgan is gonna be really hard to deal with late in the game, i suspect this is what Loz was after with walker but he won't play that role half as good as morgan will

Outside backs look to be the weak link.

Yeah which is rare. New coach as well, however with the same old players you would think it wouldn't matter. Although Hagan isn't there anymore and I credit him for QLDs dominance just as much as Mal.
Jennings/Mansour V O'Neill/Gagai could go a long way to deciding it.

The team to lose the series 3-0.
Parker has only played 14 origins... shows how average he was until about 3/4 years ago.

Re: QLD Maroons
bit of a victim of QLD's loyalty to an extant to be fair
while no doubt people will come in and say harrison always performed (he was ok) there is no way he deserved to hold off parker for as long as he did imo

Yeah, that was back in the time around 2009 & 2010 when a backline of Slater, Boyd, Inglis, Hodges/Tate (depending on injury), Folau, Lockyer and JT were playing behind Petro, Scott and Price. We were really just taking the piss with our backrow, selecting Harrison and Dallas Johnson in the team. Guys like Karmichael Hunt and Cooper Cronk were bench players at best and guys like Bowen and Prince weren't even being talked about.
Compare that to the bunch of plodders we were playing at the time ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_State_of_Origin_series ), and you could see why we could afford to be so loyal to those guys who played awesome in previous years.
Happy days. I'm surprised we didn't win by more those years to be honest. We must have had the Stillnox and Red Bull before all the matches, not just the one we lost.
Pieman is right though in that Corey Parker in the second half of his career was far better than he was in the first half.

Bit harsh on Dallas.
Besides, he'll be a vegatable by the time he's 40 so it was nice of us to let him get his living in while his brain wasnt goo.

Seeing him get KO'd then run back on still clearly gone was pretty barbaric even for QLD standards.

Is Hayne coming to watch the game so he can beat his chest like a baboon? The footage fires me up every time.Honeysett wrote:I'm on the work computers, can't say too much haha.

Pretty impressive considering he was still playing better then any of the idiots in blue, even when he was seeing double and having to play against 26 opposition players. Quite a handicap.

GI's "try" will forever mean QLDs have the refs.
I could go on for days about the amount of times they cost us the game and therefore the series. History would look a lot nicer if Shayne Hayne wasn't blindly QLD.
