    Smokey Captain choice this week:
Payne Haas – Will be wanting to show Freddy what he is missing out on. Sharks got beat badly up the middle, maybe no Fifita hurts them and Broncos without Fifita, Gillett, Oates will need to find some spark up the middle.
Klemmer – Will be fired up after getting the origin snub and Knights won’t be to hurt by the Origin picks. Showed they can still win without Ponga and Warriors are out of some form right now.

    Might stick with CS9 though.

I'm leaning towards Haas somewhat still no below 50 score all season

But Smith and McInnes with severely weakened teams each are probably going to rack up points (last years' Origin-affected Storm-Dragons clash was an absolute points fest)

A lot of rumours going around that Bennett knew he was leaving the club and fucked them royally by signing players he didn't want for money they don't deserve and not signing players he did want so he could lure them to redfern (s'ua and roberts). Much like he did at Newcastle.

Apparently Seibold had to get rid of Sua, Roberts etc just so the Broncos came under the salary cap.

The Boyd deal was done in 2017 though.

Sua and Roberts aren't great examples. Su'A was signed to a long term deal but it was clear for everyone to see that he was a square peg in a round hole at the Broncos, stuck behind Gillett and Glenn, and Dave Fifita. Su'A was signed up before Fifita had debuted for us. At the time, it seemed like a great deal (and at the time, Glenn wasn't going to be with us in 2019). Souths also tried to sign him last year.

Roberts, well I don't think he would work well under anyone other than Bennett. And his form hasn't improved at Souths yet. It probably will come finals time, but it was never going to happen at the Broncos.

Anyway, fantasy related - Broncos website confirms Isaako is not available for selection this week either. so that almost guarantees Boyd will be named at 1.

Suppose Paix will debut in the halves.

Farnworth's stats in the ISC have been pretty good and is a goal-kicker so might be a chance. I doubt both he and Coates get named though.

I don't think we have any option, other than playing both?

    1 Boyd
    2 Coates
    3 Shibasucki
    4 Staggs
    5 Herbie
    6 Paix/Dargan/Turpin
    7 O'Sullivan

The only other top 30 back we have is Perese.

That is straight up a Q Cup backline. I don't think goalkicking is going to matter much.

Is going Milford,Havili and Brittain to SJ,Coates and Klemmer too much? Would leave me with just 3 trades left

Nah, looks v solid. I'm highly likely doing two of those trades.

Three trades for the run home looks to be better than most! Carnage!

Depends on the rest of your team, but I'd be holding Brittain in the hope he is useful next week. If Cook is rested then you'll get 45+ from Brittain. Coates will probably score 15.

There's going to be some skeleton teams getting around come rd 23/24 mine included. The few people on here with trades in hand are in a better spot than most years I reckon.

Fair things to consider and definitely risk vs reward but I don't think we're comparing apples to apples..

The half position has been a minefield this year. What other half options do we have in the same price bracket that will be starting halves (won't be dropped, won't play off the bench)?

Bringing in Jazz as a hooker when Fainu is available? That's a big punt, to me. Fainu has locked down the starting hooker role and should punch outside consistent keeper level scores. Jazz's role is still up in the air.
Isn’t Koroisau only out for 6 weeks?

Once he gets back, Fainu will go back to the bench and score in the high 30’s

I think Fainu is a bigger punt imo

Could you hold the Brittain to Coates trade or are the funds needed for SJ and Klemmer?

Tohu is back in about the same amount of time - surely they are both only short term options?
