Latrell averaged 44.7 last year, that's the closest any true CTR has gone to 45 for a season.
If Bird had played more than 9 games, his average would've been closer to 40 than 45.
Can increase Bird's sample to 13 games if you count the 4 CTR games from last season, where he scored 10, 37, 16 and 21.
Hodges used to average in the 40s in a time when scores were generally much lower, no points for TBs etc... though that was in a time when Mannering was still available in the centres. I think Croker has averaged in the 40s or at least close to it in the past. Inglis and Folau were some others who averaged in the 40s as centres. Konrad Hurrell and Leilua in their early years...
Doesn't happen often nowadays but there have been a few over the years.

Matt Cooper used to average in the 40s as well, I think.

More than likely covering for Shiba. Not game enough to take the gamble although he did look good. Maybe first game nerves are gone he can come good... especially in CTR
Got him as a cashout last week so I'll take it.
Also, I really believe Burns can average over 40, easily.

Yeah having Fifita always feel safe. Not fun to root against.
Don't fault the Watson trade. Maybe could've gotten on slightly earlier, but it looked like he was gonna hold that HK spot for a few more weeks with Levi out til 18-20.. Early returns have been a theme this year.
Yeah, I shouldn't be surprised I guess.

Yeah I took Walters as a cashout/NPR for the rest of the year.

I thought Turpin at 7 and Seggy on the bench would be the way to go.

Don't get how you can say this? Burns average playing CTR for 80 minuts us 50.5 from 4 games and that is with 1 try. I believe he can average 45 for the season. Has a low of 39 at centre... yes that 20 game will come but he also has 3/4 games 39 and above, plays on the best attacking edge in the game arguably, and has the ability to pump out a massive game. Records are made to be broken ladies and gents. Latrell averaged 45 by hitting 60's and 20's. Burns may get it by hitting 40's and 50's.
I can say it confidently because CTRs for many years have struggled to average much above 40.
When Jack Bird was 5/8 and averaged ~48 it was a dream, like Soliola playing SR and available at CTR and averaging 50 odd.
That's why having two SRs in Bateman and Nikora available there has been such a big deal.. it just doesn't happen where you get 2 guys able to average way above 40.
Previously guys like Latrell, Marsters and Croker have been certified CTR guns and they all have goalkicking. Hoppa was able to average ~40 without kicking, and might've gone above once moved to FB.
Latrell is also playing for a premiership winning contender and is a prolific try scorer, so it's not like Burns has an advantage in that regard.

absolutely, apparently Seggy isn't the top 30, so can only play when injury hits, based on his 3 games played so far, i'd want to pick him for every single one he'd be allowed to play.

What's the go with Doueihi keeping the FB spot? If that was the case I'd run with him in the halves.

Euan Aitken was also a former gun, averaging around 40. He's probably a good comparison for Burns. No goalkicking and seemed very difficult to tackle, racking up TBs/LBs and assists often, aswell as tries.
Fkn loved him, but again, only averaged around 40.

He is in the top 30
Regardless, the top 30 rule doesnt apply after june 30
I dont mind if paix debuts because if milford is fullback, then we need at least one half, in the halves.
Turps hasnt played in the halves for something like 5 years and is a stop gap

By the way for those worried about SJ, 94 of top 100 own him (with only 52nd, 73rd, 83rd, 92nd, 99th and 100th the only non-owners) so we're all in this shitstorm together

you sure? read an article yesterday that Seggy is on peanuts designated as a developmental player, i wish the NRL were transparent with this kind of information past Round 1, it sure would be nice to know exactly who the players in the team's squad are.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 68
I know I said I wasn’t going to look at my team before Thursday but I needed that crack!!!!
Pre-TLT trades;
Martin > Fainu
Xerri > Burns
If no Ponga team would be
Cook
Fifi Haas
Tolo Murray Taupau
SJ Watson
Bateman Nikora
Teddy Drinkwater Burns
CS9 CM9 Fainu SST
Mann Walters Brittain Ponga
If no teddy Watson to WFB and Mann to HLF.
R18 will be Watson to my final HLF (Arey/DCE) and then R21 will be Fainu to around 850K
Final team:
Cook
Fifi Haas
Tolo Murray Taupau
SJ (Arey/DCE)
Bateman Nikora
Teddy Ponga Drinkwater
CS9 CM9 SST NPR
850K Burns Mann NPR
0 trades easy does it. Plenty of cover. Sit back and watch the charge home. My only problem is there are a lot of similar teams.

huh, wasn't aware that page was anywhere on the site, fox sports is telling fibs then:
https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/teams/broncos/revealed-the-cutprice-baby-broncos-who-pulled-off-epic-upset-against-sharks/news-story/03796ac692dfdd687151ec9853660709
Three of the Broncos bench players — James Segeyaro, Rhys Kennedy and Keenan Palasia — are on contracts worth a combined total of less than $100,000.
How is that possible given the NRL’s minimum wage is $72,500? Because all three sit outside of the Broncos top 30 roster and are categorised as development players.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 68
Segeyaro is signed for like 50k. Hes on base wage, but he only gets like 5 months worth of that 110k
Kennedy signed last week, so only 4 months or so out of an annual dev contract.

I have a feeling this is one of those weeks where there will be teams scoring 1000+ and some teams struggling to post 850
