I'm really paranoid about captaining Haas this week. Every player has a dud now and then but Haas hasn't had his yet.

I just know the week I do, his minutes are suddenly going to drop or some otherwise untimely disaster.

I'll go through with it but going to be nervous as.

Would Murray to Cook be considered sideways?

TKO, burnt me last year and this HIA issues he has suffered from the past weeks have really decreased his minutes/points. Will probably hold though as there is still a long way to go and Harris will be retuning within the next 1-3 rounds. Gosh I hate trade rage!!

Anyone know the story with Toomaga at the Dogs? Was scoring single digits in tiny stints last year, but got a 32 in 35min last week. Anyone know anything about his job security? Who’s he in for? I’d really prefer someone who can put together some emergency score if I need it for my centres and wonder if he’ll do?

I had Lomax, Arthars and now Staggs in my team who I’d hoped would cover the CTR position, but with Staggs now going for Cook I feel a little nude.

Alternatively, is Moga too much of a risk with his injury history? Or do you just take the chance anyway and hope he’s a permanent emergency option?

I can wait a week on Ponga right?

I mean Watson to Ponga is a bit of a no brainer, but with trades running low I really want to hold it as long as possible, make sure he can get through a game with his calf, it's against the full strength Roosters in Sydney, make sure Watson doesn't find himself back starting next week for some reason, and Ponga's BE is high whereas Watson's is low and. Watson can sit as 18th man if SJ is good to go.

It would mean playing burns at WFB instead of Ponga. I'm not sure how many points I'd be giving up. Burns up against a Morgan less Cowboys marking Opacic (unless they swap sides, Burns would score a banner up against Bowen).

    What do you think fella's?

I'd say it's not. Surely Cook guns it from now on with Origin out of the way. Is doubts over Murray's minutes for rest of year. If he only gets 50 minutes Cook is a lot safer for 10 or more points every week.

No it's an upgrade but your team would have to be fucking awesome if he's the guy to make way for him. Nobody else to trade?

I'm confused, are you trading Murray to ARey?

Certainly the first option appears stronger with ARey at half, Brooks plays before Tauk on five occasions which is handy for looping whereas looping Murray and Tauk is less appealing because you'd expect similar scores although I think Murray will outscore. It's marginal though and I'm not sure it's worth the trade. Any other way to get a better half in?
Yeah, I would be trading Murray > Reynolds

I think I would get around 5 extra points per week with the first option which equates to 40 points for the rest of the season. The first option also gives me half cover whereas the second option doesn’t.

But the second option does give me an extra trade. By my calculations, there will be 5.6 injuries to my starting 17. 5 trades + decent 18th man should hopefully be enough to cover approximately 5.6 injuries (especially if a couple of them are only 1 week injuries). 4 trades might be pushing it a little bit.

There wouldn’t be another way to get another half in without going to 3 trades remaining, selling a better gun than Murray or getting a budget half like Drinkwater (which I don’t want to do)

    Thanks for your help

I'd be holding I reckon. If you really want Tevaga you can possibly get him using that final trade when one of your top 17 goes down injured and you'll be glad you held.

Moga or Toomaga would be the best cheap centres

Only problem will Watson make his 40'sh BE from the bench. Ponga is fairly high but so might cancel each other out. Could be worth playing Burns this week against the Cows as a pod over Ponga and reassessing next week on the Ponga trade in.

I can't really think of anyone else. My team is

    CS9
    Haas/Fifita
    JTurbo/Taupau/Taumalolo
    Wighton/Pearce
    Nikora/Bateman
    RTS/CNK/Ponga

    McInnes/Murray/Matterson/Twal
    To'o/Dearden/Coates/Brown

I went with Murray because I have plenty of 2RF cover. I know my halves may not be elite and CNK will have to be upgraded but if anyone has any suggestions as to who I should cut for Cook I would appreciate it.

I think you’re overrating those 5 trades for injury bud. That’s week on week slide backwards material

I can have one or two if I want. I had a Ponga and glad I traded him out. Still not convinced he’s 100%, so he’s a watch. Ditto Turbo. I don’t think I’ll lose too much ground and fully expect to go up another 40 spots. I’m strong up front. I’ll probably bring in Tedesco for either Watson or Hughes, but they can both go big at any time, so not urgent. I’m happy to wait a week.

You have these fancy ways of working out how many trades you need to cover for injuries, but the truth is you actually have no idea how many trades you will actually need. You can't cash them in at the end of the season. You may be lucky and only need three. If you saved 5, you've left points on the bench essentially. I think your top 17 and points on the board takes precedence over what you might need.

So if it works for you $ wise, I'd be looking at going down to three trades to improve your 17, but delaying it a week or two if possible to give some more confidence that you'll have enough trades left. Like what I'm suggesting in my post about Watson to Ponga, the trade is perfectly good on its merits but I want to wait a week if I can get away with it.

I'm not too concerned about the $. With their BE's I wouldn't expect a massive blow out in their price difference and I've got more than enough $ to make my planned trades. It's more about how many points I'd be giving up to Ponga owners. Thoughts?

Without diving deep into opposition, I expect Ponga to average ~53 and Burns ~40. So around 13 in the long run.

Yeah pretty awesome. Maybe Murray is the guy. Yeah second row is certainly not your problem. WFB and HLF a bit weak as you say. You're gonna need Cook though so Murray could be it, perhaps Twal.
