You have these fancy ways of working out how many trades you need to cover for injuries, but the truth is you actually have no idea how many trades you will actually need. You can't cash them in at the end of the season. You may be lucky and only need three. If you saved 5, you've left points on the bench essentially. I think your top 17 and points on the board takes precedence over what you might need.

So if it works for you $ wise, I'd be looking at going down to three trades to improve your 17, but delaying it a week or two if possible to give some more confidence that you'll have enough trades left. Like what I'm suggesting in my post about Watson to Ponga, the trade is perfectly good on its merits but I want to wait a week if I can get away with it.
    Thank you for your advice!

It's really hard to know how many trades I will need. I might need 3 or I might need 7.

I guess it comes down to whether I could use the trade in the future and get >40 points return.

Atm I'm leaning towards holding the extra trade this week and then re-assess next week depending what happens on the weekend.

I'd probably offload Twal over Murray. Murray more of an attacking threat, so I'm expecting some LB/LBA/T/TA to close out the season.

Matterson or Murray starting SR, so Taupau can cover FR/SR.

    BUMP

Nothing to do with this this week guys?

    2 trades 17k

    Cook
    Fifita Haas
    Murray Matterson Taumalolo
    SJ Moses
    Nikora Bateman
    Tedesco Ponga RTS

    Smith
    McInnes
    Taupau
    Mahoney

    Burns
    To’o
    Carrigan
    Walters

24th overall and 2nd in the Eels league but 1st is coming 3rd overall so don’t think I can run him down. Won’t give up though!

Nah looking good mate. Mahoney obviously the only one but not urgent and you can loop Burns with him for at least the next two weeks. Alternatively you could play Burns over Nikora but I think he'll come good again.

If I go ahead with the Ponga trade I have exactly the same 17 except Tevaga for Mahoney.

Yeah if you're only giving up a few points this week, no harm in holding and re-assessing next week.

Haha, too unpredictable mate! Too many times I've been sucked into opposition and sometimes it works and sometimes not Sad

Burns vs. Cows does look nice, but could be everyone else piling on the points. Big win for Cows vs. Roosters too, so can't write them off.

Ponga returning from injury and tough match vs. Roosters, but Ponga's one guy who opposition probably doesn't affect much. Killed us in origin 1.

Ponga with 2 tries in 3 games vs. Roosters.

Scored 59 in 58 mins vs. them Rd 11 this year and 7 goals.
46 without a try Rd 3 last year.
58 with a try in Rd 14 last year.

Burns with so few games to really get an idea, but I don't mind waiting on Ponga and taking the punt on Burns. At least you can cheer for something if he does cross vs. your Cows.

I like the security of waiting a week on a return from injury when BE is highish (69 for Ponga).

Bateman's one I waited on this year

Haha. Has played 80mins in 2nd row last three games and seems to be ahead of Crichton on the edge. Would be choosing between him and To'o for 17th man each week. So if he is benched, I can play To'o. Otherwise, I can chose any player below $390k to trade in with Cook.... Happy to take a punt. Any thoughts Rabbit?

Every year he has lured me in. Every year he has hurt me bad. He is the black widow. Aguaranteed team killer. Even if he jags a good round, the rest of your team has a propensity to turn into pigshit.

Thanks. I think I'm gonna wait as long as SJ is still there come Friday night. Yeah I was going to wait on Bateman, but given it was a bye round I took the punt and got lucky.

My 17 is the same other than you having Moses and Mahoney. I have TTurbo and JTurbo, with Mahoney as 18th. I'm ranked 24th out of Eels fans.

In a beauty contest, for sure.

For fantasy, nah.. Aubs is the queen of late position switches. SR/CTR/bench it's all a 3 sided coinflip.
