Best 17 in terms of total points scored - not average, but total points, so combination of scoring and durability. You'd have called this crazy at start of season.

    McInnis
    Haas, Taupau
    Matterson, Murray, JFH
    Moses, Brooks
    Bateman, Nikora
    Tedesco, Milford*, RTS
    Smith, Cook, JTrbo, KBrom

(*Milford not available at WFB to start season. Next best is Wighton)

If we have no SJ and no McInnes next week then I'm down to 15 so expect I'll slide a fair bit, potentially outside the top 200 to finish off the year.

Hoping against hope for a Lachlan Maranta call up! Very Happy

If you moved up with 16 this week, you can move up with 15 next week!

I reckon is SJ isn't too bad, they run him out there. It's do or die for the Sharks.

Perhaps even bring in B.Brailey on the bench just in case. Can play the brothers in the middle and move Graham to 6. I know this is far-fetched but i have 4 npr and may as well get the talks starting now so someone can see it

Lost Tapine, Burns, Brown, SJ, McInnes and possibly Munster in the last few games of this season. I'll be going into my GF with probably only 15 players. Welp

Tbh, I got to where I was/am by trading HARD over byes. A few injuries around that time though, meant that I spent 2 or 3 more than I intended (obviously alot of people were affected by this too). I had one trade left after round 18, lol. Held on pretty well until the carnage came yesterday..

It is about now that I regret using my final trade on RTS to Ponga Laughing I think it has actually cost me points over the three weeks since making the trade. But that is hindsight for you. It looked like the right move at the time... I was just too worried about not owning him with Newcastle's seemingly good run of games.

I tend to agree, I got screwed by my trades over Origin where I messed up the 4 trade situation and rolling lockout causing a domino effect on future trades and in particular my recent captains have been poor

I was sort of forced to get 2 cashouts that would play bye round only due to my lower team value as a result of some poorly timed trades early on

I was the same, Walters and Coates were a necessity to afford final 17 players.

Walters actually did his job, scored 40 then disappeared (if he could turn up this week, that'd be nice).

Coates, in hindsight, was a shocker. Scored poorly, but the biggest problem is, he plays on the same team as Staggs, which means he locks out at the same time (and early in the week), so been useless to me in the run home.

Don't think Coates was a terrible choice at the time. There was a certain amount of evidence that a backline position for the Broncos was his to lose, but unfortunately he lost it. Otherwise he could have been a useful cover scorer or first look loop.

Brittain on reflection was a dumb decision. Killing off a spot in the first bye is not the way to play the 21-man game. Someone like To'o who was base price around the same time would have been much better.

Yep - that's true I suppose. I think he was the only basement price wfb going around in round 16 that would get another game in round 17 as well... so it was a somewhat forced decision.

EDIT: just realised he scored 28 for me in round 17. so 44 points total across the two rounds that I needed him, wasn't actually that bad. (when the main thing I needed was a basement price cashout)

Spending a little bit extra for someone actually playing has made a difference to me for sure.

Staggs and Fusitu'a cost about 60k each above base but I've used their scores about 6 times in the run home

I don't regret getting Coates. He had a crack and if he showed more promise and had better defense he may have kept the spot.

Brittain I really regret. The thought of being a Cook handcuff was too great but in reflection 1 of them would always never play. You would always have a red dot. The only benefit would have been if Cook got injured last week however you still have the same amount of players cause you lose Cook anyway. You would have benefited cause most don't have Brittain but the 50 points for the one week looks like it wasn't worth it.

    Lockout finally over

With SJ being injured I think that makes 3 out of 4 years I've played that I've ended up with an injured SJ in my squad and no trades, I should really have learnt by now

Torn between following the crowd with obvious Haas captain to hopefully crawl to top 10 or top 15 finish with max 16 players or going someone like Bateman instead. I'm guaranteed 1st in Storm league & L1 next year so torn between preserving rank or hopefully making one last desperate move for overall ranking

hard to argue with his output though, average of 56.7 since round 16 (when most got him).

Hopefully get some update today on whether he might play or not this week. Although nothing I can do about it anyway.

Looking at 16 with no McInnes (17 if Mann somehow finds his way back into the team or Burns miraculously recovers.) and 15 with no SJ. Also hoping some Storm players might be rested and Walters gets a run.

I guess a massive lesson I learnt this year was that the NRL Fantasy Season is a marathon, not a sprint. A fair few players I held too long and a few I got rid of too early. Some players I brought in were last second panic in the moment trades and some were made just because I had trades. Next year I might start with 1 eye on the bye rounds rather than max trading around that period to get max players.

EDIT: Also to try and have all 4 EMG spots taken up by players playing and earning money rather than holding long term injuries not playing. It is also best to be coming into the last 2 months of footy with a handful of trades as injuries/restings are imminent.

Got up around 300 this year and have slipped further and further behind every year sitting around 1200 at the moment. I am putting this year down as a fail.

    Bring on next year
